Short Snowy Week!

Monday morning we woke up to a little snow and ice and a two-hour delay.
So Madi helped me decorate for St. Patrick's Day a little around the house.
We are definitely lucky (blessed) around here.
I made a banner for our mantle.
And I sent one to Shelle for her mantle too.
I was supposed to have a meeting Monday evening so Madi was going to go up to work with me until Matt got out of class to take her to swim.  It was going to be a busy evening but then we cancelled our meeting and swim was cancelled so we ended up having a quiet evening at home.
We did puzzle after puzzle and GV wanted to help too!
Madi wants to make sure Noodle gets just as many cuddles as GV does.
 Tuesday
My mom's friend makes these crosses so she bought one for me and Shelle.  :)
 Wednesday
Thursday Madi's whole school wore pajamas since they beat their goal of collecting Box Tops.
Pajamas on a snowy day is pretty much perfect!
I looked out and saw Madi had Chicke in her jacket with her to keep her warm.  :)
Our tickets came in the mail for the musical Mary Poppins.
Seems like the perfect way to spend Mother's Day to me.
With my mom and the one who made me a mom!
Thursday was Madi's Friday since they were scheduled to have Friday off for a snow day!
She was planning on spending the day with Aunt Shelle and Maci while I had an interview then we were going to take her friend Margaret to the Science Spectrum but the weather had other plans . . .

Family-Filled Weekend!

Friday night, Aunt Shelle and all the cousins came to our house for fajitas!
Madi said "look, I'm Tripp!"  She had on his hat and his phone to her ear.
After dinner, we played Googly Eyes with the kids.
Aunt Shelle couldn't stop laughing at all of us in the glasses.
Now we know what everyone will look like when they're old and gray!
We told Tuck that if you close one eye you can see better to draw.
Well his mouth curls up too so we couldn't help but laugh!
 Madi and Aunt Shelle
Maci surprised us all by belting out a few answers before any of us could even think!
The fun didn't stop there . . . Grandma and Grandpa Heider were coming to visit on Saturday and decided to bring Owen along too!
 That just made Madi's day!
These two are close in age, just 6 weeks difference, and in friendship!
They pick up right where they left off!
I'm always seeing great ideas in blogs and articles I read.
This was an idea for a cozy, well-lit reading nook for kids.
So, off we went to Bed, Bath & Beyond to find the perfect canopy.
Right away, Miss Madi was in her nook reading away.
She loves to read with us and at school with her teacher and friends, but we're hoping this makes reading by herself even more fun!
Saturday night, I was Matt's guinea pig on his very first try making mojitos.
He just loved them on our cruise and has been wanting to replicate them ever since!
While our dinner was on the grill, we played a family game of Go! Fish!
Then we ALL curled up on the couch.
There's nothing better than a family-filled weekend!

Valentine's Day & School Pictures

Last Friday night Matt and I went to dinner with Shay and Brent while the girls skated at Sidney's birthday party.
Valentine's morning is even better when you wake up to goodies!
She wanted to start painting right away.
Saturday night was really nice so we sat outside while Madi played in her house and Matt grilled us pork chops.
Madi wanted to hold Noodle since she probably feels let out since we always hold GV.
Sunday after church we enjoyed a lazy afternoon!
GV is definitely a puppy.  She'll literally fall right asleep in the middle of playing.
Monday I texted this picture to my mom and sister and said that I deserve good mom points for buying this creepy cat shirt!  Madi said all her friends loved it.
Addison from school came home with us but we made a stop by Cup of Yo first.
Tuesday Madi and Maisen wore matching clothes.  She was so excited to wear her new colored jeans.
One thing I love about our house is the sight lines.  I can be exercising in our room and see her skating out back and in the drive way.
Eating a chocolate puppy from her Valentine's party for snack!
 Wednesday
 A few diving videos . . .

 Thursday
Madi came home with her school pictures Thursday.
 Friday
Ready for a weekend full of family!

Valentine's Week!

I found a cute heart scarf a few days back so I had to buy it for Madi.  She loves wearing scarfs now.
Monday
Eating breakfast with my two favorites!
I need to make this since it's the first verse Madi memorized when she was two.
Tuesday, we had to do a last minute change from our heart shirt since it was too small.  She's worn it for over 3 years but I think she's growing up!  So we snapped a quick pic as she was running out the door for her ride to school with the Bishop girls.
I think we might make this valentine clay this weekend.
 So Beautiful! Wednesday morning!
I've seen many ideas about a journal for moms and daughters but I think this might be the one I need to buy soon.
Wednesday night since her Daddy is at bible study we spend a lot of time playing and crafting. She decided to make musical instrument after musical instrument.
Thursday morning the crafting continued and she made a guitar with chords and all!
 All ready for school!
Aunt Shelle sent my parents, brother and me the following pictures and titles:

Animals before going to Grandma's house . . .
 Animals after going to Grandma's house . . .
It's so funny because it's SO true!
She also sent pics of the cousins with their Valentine's gifts.
Tripp bought the chocolate and bear for his girlfriend Caroline.
Our church is starting a monthly women's ministry so we can all meet the women of our church.  One downfall of having such a big church is that the early service people usually don't get to meet the late service.  So they're changing that.  We had a yummy dessert bar, games, door prizes, fellowship and lesson. It was a great night!

Matt cut Madi's summer sausage and cucumbers into hearts for her lunch today.
He also wrote her the sweetest note asking her to be his Valentine.
 Ready for school!
 Wearing our new LOVE shirt!
Even with visitors from University of Memphis here to see and shadow us at work I was able to make her party!
They were all red-faced coming in from recess but that didn't stop them from starting on the heart craft right away!
 My Valentine!
  Decorating cookies . . .
 All done!
 Sidney, Maisen & Madison
I'm so thankful for her sweet friends!
