Swim-a-thon!

This week was the Swim-a-thon for Madi!
They swim 100 laps (5000 meters) as a fundraiser.  Last year Madi finished in 1 hour 41 minutes and this year she swan it in 1 hour and 26 minutes.  After each set of 25 laps they pick a rubbery ducky!
We ate dinner at the Foley's Wednesday night and then Allison and Jessica spent the night with us since Thursday morning was Kids Day Out at church.  They loved Texas Water Rampage!
Thursday evening we had dinner at the King's house and swam!
Madi wrote a cute book at her summer program called "Dream Big Maple!"  And I just loved it!
They wrote books and read them to the younger kids but unfortunately Madi missed that week due to theater camp.
But I just had to take a few pictures to remember her sweet story!
Friday afternoon we met the Foley's at the new Obstacle Warrior Kids place.
They had a lot of fun!

Now we are ready for the weekend!

Theater Camp & VBS

Well, we survived quite a busy week!
Monday morning started with theater camp with a bunch of friends!
While Madi was at camp I enjoyed a going away lunch for one of my site coordinators that got a tenure-track position at A&M at Corpus.  Chuy's food is always good!
I couldn't wait to pick Madi up Monday afternoon.  She got her script and found out she got the part of a Who!
But there wasn't time to rest because VBS started that evening!
Madi loved being on the Praise Team this year and helping lead the kids in worship.

After worship, we went to our room (I helped teach one of the 4th grade classes) and had our lesson.
Then it was time for games and snack!
We ended the evening with more worship and fun!
We take class pictures on the second night.  This was just the two 4th grade classes.  We have a big VBS!
The rest of VBS week went about the same.  A great time was had by all!  And we learned so much.
Friday couldn't get here fast enough for this Who!
 The program . . .

Again this year, we were so amazed at the quality of the set and performance after just 5 days of rehearsal.
Madi also played the part of a jellyfish for one scene.

It is so fun to see her having so much fun!
I think theater is definitely in her future!
Grandma B and Grandma Mayberry came to see her play!
A little fuzzy but we wanted a picture with our Who girl!
 Allison, Madi, Maren & Jessica
 Madi & Iris
They also get a shirt based on the play!
If that wasn't enough excitement for one week, after we went out to a celebratory dinner Madi practically pulled out her first molar.  It was barely hanging on so I easily pulled it.  Since we don't believe in the Tooth Fairy she got a cute little squishee for the big event.
We were so tired but that didn't keep this scientist from making batches of slime Saturday morning!
Then we headed to the pool Saturday afternoon!  What a week!

Father's Day Weekend!

We started the weekend at the pool.
We invited Maisen along and they played for over 4 hours!
We also had a new roof put on our house on Friday so the puppies spent the day with Grandma Mayberry.  We went and picked them up after the pool.
We love the new roof but not what one of the trucks did to our cactus.
Maci spent the night day with us after we watched one of Tripp's basketball games.
Madi was dying her hair purple so Maci wanted to join in on the fun!
Sunday morning we celebrated this guy!

I think it's safe to say he loved his card . . .
and mug that Madi made for him!
It's getting harder to fit both hand prints on the mug!
Madi joined the Praise Team at church for upcoming VBS.  She's been attending practice twice a week for the last six weeks.  Sunday was their first day to sing in both services!
Father's Day wouldn't be complete without a fun game of Clue while grilling out steaks.
Happy Father's Day to the best Madi's Daddy there is!
