First Day of 8th Grade!

Wednesday, August 18th - It was time to go back to school!
8th grade here we come!
Packed up and ready to go!
I'm going to miss having this girl around all day but I'm thankful she gets to go to school!
We had a social for my work on Wednesday afternoon to welcome everyone back!
This is how we felt about the second day of school . . .
Second day means volleyball tryouts start!
Thankfully, we're still all smiles!
I think it's safe to say Tripp is loving his job with Uncle Matt!
Thankful for another good start to the school year!

The Last Days of Summer!

We met the Foleys, Ellises, Gibbs and Buxkempers for a night out before school starts back.
We went to Rave On and enjoyed it!
Very thankful for these great friends.
With school coming up, I found this sweet mother/daughter matching necklace set that I got for Madi.
It has two interlocking circles (one bigger than the other).  It's simple but pretty!
We volunteered at a few places together to get some of our NCL hours in before school starts.  Here we are working in the Restore for Habitat for Humanity.
While we were volunteering, Matt went to a Tech football practice with a bunch of alumni.  He had a great time!
Sunday after church, we had our first in-person NCL meeting!

We are so happy that Haley and her mom (below) are also in NCL!
Sunday night, we had the Foleys, Laytons, and new friends, the Teppers, over for a cook out and swim party!

Monday morning, I went with Tripp and Shelle to walk his schedule at South Plains, buy his textbooks, and get a parking pass.  He humored me and picked a seat in each classroom so I could take a pic!
Madi's hair appointment for a balayage was also on Monday.
She was so excited and happy with the outcome!
Tripp's first day working with Matt and his firm was that afternoon.  Here he is working away at his desk!
Lots to do to get ready to go back to school!

Vegas Meet Up!

We headed to Vegas while Madi was still in California so we would be there when she headed back on Sunday afternoon.
But of course, we had to enjoy breakfast at our favorite place before heading to the airport to meet her plane.
We got Madi then she and I headed straight to the outlets to do some school shopping.  We were too busy for picture but I did snap a picture to show her jeans she was trying on.
After shopping for 5 or so hours, we met Matt down town for dinner at Triple Georges.

Then we were up and out early the next morning for another yummy breakfast!

We had to escape a few rooms while we were there (of course!).  We escaped the first room so early so we decided to do another one right away.  :)
Found a fun drink while walking around the strip.

We escaped another room later that afternoon.  It was a Rugrats theme which was so fun!
Then we had dinner at Giordano's and went to see Shin Lim, the magician!
He put on a great show!  We were all amazed!
Then we headed home to get ready for school to start soon.

Madi, the Cali Girl!

We put Madi on a plane by herself to California!
She had a layover in Vegas and did great!  She even handled a small delay like a champ!
Then she was reunited with Devyn!
I was jealous every time Devyn's mom sent me pictures like this . . .
The beach plus volleyball - this girl was in heaven!

Madi and Devyn also attended a few volleyball clinics while she was visiting.

I was surprised she came home after spending the week in this place!

We are so thankful Madi has her Cali family to spend time with each year!

Grandma Mayberry's 71st Birthday!

We celebrated Grandma Mayberry's birthday with lunch and games at 50th St. then we had the Sc'eider (Scott-Heider) Olympics at our house!
We had 8 different events for the cousins to compete in including carrying Grandma across the pool!

Then it was time to sing to Grandma and have cookie cake!
They each got $5 for the events they won and everyone went home with the GOLD!  A gold Ghiradelli bar that is!

Aunt Shelle and Maci stayed the night with us so these girls went night swimming!
And while we were celebrating Grandma, our cabinet guys were here installing our garage shelves . . .
And the bar in the basement . . .

I know lots of fun will be had here very soon! Now we just need to get it all painted and stained!
