VBS 2016

Monday morning this was my view as I headed to Memphis.
I enjoyed my quick trip to Memphis, but I sure didn't want to miss the first two nights of VBS.
Thankfully, Matt sent me this cute picture when he picked Madi up Monday night.
And Aunt Shelle sent this cute video of Madi having a good time.

I went to Memphis for a convening with the other 5 universities for our grant.  They fed us well for every meal.
Madi always wants pictures of my hotel room and what I'm wearing when I travel.  :)
Sat next to TTU President Schovanec at lunch.  Matt was impressed!
I got home Tuesday evening so we headed to the pool on Wednesday to celebrate!

And thankfully I was able to help Shay at VBS on Wednesday night.
They had so much fun with all the stories, lesson and events.

 Snack time!
 Thursday morning!
When I picked Madi up from Aunt Shelle's house Thursday afternoon I found Madi and Maci with life vests on inside the boat.  Even the horse was dressed up.  They were pretending to be on the lake and would jump off into the water to "swim" around!
VBS group picture of 2nd grade.  Yes, this is just 2nd grade.  There were three classes of almost every grade level.
Thankful for another wonderful year of VBS and the great conversations that keep coming up because of the lessons and stories that were told.

Father's Day 2016

Saturday night we decided to go out on a date for an early Father's Day celebration.
We enjoyed a nice dinner at The West Table then went to see the movie Now You See Me 2.  It was a great night!
Sunday morning we celebrated Father's Day!
Madi such hit the jackpot when it comes to a daddy.
Matt loved his mug and hand-made card from Madison.

I love how she always draws a family picture of us.  :)
We were set to greet at church so I snapped a few pictures before it got busy of Madi and her Daddy on Father's Day.

Then a nice lady asked if she could take a family picture too.
We can never have enough pictures of our family of 3.
This picture was taken years ago on Father's Day.  My how she has grown up!
We're in the middle of a chapter book, but every once and a while she likes to pull out a nursery rhyme book to enjoy before bed.
I don't care what we read but I sure love ending my day like this every single night.

Farmer's Market Fun!

The many faces of Madi after enjoying an evening in the hot tub.

Ready for a fun day at Aunt Shelle's house on Friday morning.
Then Maci and Tuck joined us for the pool and evening at our house.
Saturday morning Madi and I met up with the Daniel girls at the farmer's market downtown while Matt played some golf.
 Maisen & Madi
They couldn't wait to get their faces painted!

As we left, they wanted their picture by the Buddy Holly statue.
Then we went to the new farmer's market at the West End.  Grandma Mayberry met us there too.

We were hot and sweaty so we tried a new place called Raspados Colima.

I tried the fruit cup and Madi got a watermelon slushy.
It was a fun Saturday morning!

Vegas!

Vegas preparations included hats for both us in HOT Vegas!
I was glad to see this text Madi sent to Grandma since she was going to be away from us for four days!
We sent a few pictures to Madi throughout the afternoon on Sunday as we were in the airport . . .
 On the plane . . .
In our taxi on the way to our hotel . . .
 Our hotel the Palazzo . . .
 Our suite . . .
Complete with a few stairs down into a living room . . .
Our view of the strip . . .
 And our hotel's 3 pools!
We got settled in then headed out to meet up with the other 3 couples!
We rode the rail the first night!
We sent these pictures to Madi . . .

And this was her face when we facetimed her the next morning!  She said I thought you were in Vegas, not New York!  :)
Dinner the first night!  Then we went to see Carrot Top!
More of our hotel!  I knew Madi would love all the chandeliers!
These fountains were pretty neat too.  We walked by them every time we headed to the shops!
This is our hotel from across the street.
After shopping, we met up with the guys.
This is what you find on your phone when you ask Adam to take your picture.
 Finally got it!
 Ryan & Raynie
 Bianca & Adam
The girls on the horse end seats!
We had reservations at Cut Monday night then we went and saw Pen & Teller.
 The Guys!

 The whole group!
 Don & Lauren
The girls!  We couldn't have matched this well if we had tried.
 Pen & Teller
 Ready for the pool!
We lucked out with nice weather in Vegas.  Low 90s the whole time!
 Mac King Show!
We took fewer pictures as the week went on.  We were too busy having fun celebrating Adam's 40th birthday coming up, Ryan's birthday a few days prior, Matt's passing of all the CPA exams, and Lauren's graduation from medical school!
