Finally Feels like Summer!

I had to take a picture of my work-at-home set up.  I love the standing desk Matt and Madi made me.  And I laugh at how I rigged the iPad to sit so I can be on Zoom and also work on my laptop.  Thankful to work from home but can't wait to get back to campus.
A Happy Birthday video for Tripp!  Can't believe he's 17!
Every once and a while . . . you just need to open the sunroof, blast the music and go to Sonic.
Madi and I got a head start on Father's Day when Clay Cafe finally opened back up.
Rain calls for rainboots!
Elly came over to play and ended up spending the night. They had so much fun jumping, swimming, doing make-up and more!
Oh and there was this dare they did running down the street!
Got kneepads for volleyball camp coming up!
The cousins came to town and Maci loved all the toys we had for her!

SkipBo! has become our new family game! Most days you can find us playing!
Madi spent the night with Riley on Thursday then today Maisen, Madi and Riley went to Texas Water Rampage.
Summer - we are ready for you!

Spring Piano Recital

Since the Spring Piano recital was cancelled, Ms. Amy suggested still having Madi play and share the recording with family and friends.
So, after church on Sunday we did just that.
We sure love hearing her play!

End of 6th Grade Traditions!

I say this each year but I love our easy end-of-year traditions to remember the school year!
I think the Class of 2026 shirt is getting smaller otherwise our baby girl is growing up!

This year Madi really took an interest in how her handwriting has changed from year to year.  I love seeing the progression!
I also love that Madi will get this book her senior year and be able to see what all of her teachers have said to her.  It's extra special that this is actually a book her daddy received for his high school graduation.

I couldn't send the book to school to have her teachers sign in it like normal, so I did the next best thing.  They were great about sending copies of hand written notes for me to print and attach to the book.

First day of 6th Grade
Last day of 6th Grade - Sort of! : )
Our introduction to middle school sure was interesting with the way it ended.  But overall it was a GREAT year and we can't wait for 7th grade.  Madi too!

Last Week!

Reunited with friends . . . and it feels so good!

We have started letting Chicke off her leash on our walks.  Madi is worried when we do it, but Chicke just keeps walking as if nothing changed.
Last Friday, we went to Madi's school to pick up anything from Band or Pre-athletics that she may have left in her lockers.
Before face mask . . .
 During . . .
 After face mask . . . Beautiful!
May 22nd is the official last day of school but Madi's district decided Friday, May 15th would be the deadline for all school work.  So Madi wore her Pirates Learn at Home shirt in honor of the last day of 6th grade!

Thankful for this trampoline!  It has provided hours of entertainment!
Swimsuit shopping online is a whole new experience!  Thankfully, I think we've found 3 winners!

Madi's been making her own blizzards at home with cookies and Twix!
Ready for summer!

Mother's Day 2020

We started Mother's Day weekend with a patio night on Friday with just the 3 of us.
Then on Saturday, Madi and I hosted a Mother's Day lunch for Grandma Mayberry and Grandma B.
We took a few pictures before they arrived.
I wasn't standing up very straight in our first picture so I had to take another one to make sure I was still taller than Madi!
 That's better!
We made their favorite lunch of quesadillas, home made salsa and guacamole.  We used Grandma B.'s mother's china.
We were excited when they arrived!
 4 Generation Selfie!
After we ate lunch, Madi entertained them by playing a few songs on the piano.
A few more pictures before they headed home.

Grandma and Grandpa Heider came over that afternoon but sadly we didn't think to take a picture.  We were too busy visiting and enjoying having them here!
Matt grilled us steaks and shrimp for dinner.
Then on Sunday we were able to attend church for the first time in many weeks!
Thankful for going to church and for this sweet girl that made me a mom!
Right after church, we changed clothes and loaded up our bikes so we could head up to the Tech campus.
We rode all over and showed Madi places from college!  I think we rode 3-4 miles.
 Future Red Raider . . . hopefully!

Then we picked up Rosa's for lunch on the way home.  These two played Phase 10 and Quixx to humor me.
A nap, a little shopping and dinner with friends rounded out a perfect Mother's Day!
