We Made it!

 We made it through the first week! 

Here we are on Tuesday all ready for another fun day of 1st grade.

 Wednesday

 Wednesday, Stephanie and I taught our middle level class.  These 14 students will be middle school teachers in May!

 We're co-teaching the class to gather data so we can try and publish our findings in the spring.

 Madi found her keepsake box and said these pajamas still fit me!  Grandma Heider made them for her when she was 3 or 4!

 Thursday 

 On our way to piano Thursday afternoon it started raining.  Pouring really!

 Madi couldn't wait to grab her raincoat and rainboots and get out in it!

 We even had some hail.  Madi tried to pick up the pieces before they melted.

 Friday!

 Thinking she's too funny!  I'm afraid this will be here before we know it!

 I took Madi lunch on Friday and of course Maisen came to sit with us.  They've had a great first week!

I love my job.  But the nature of my job is crazy.  Stephanie and I thought we'd have a day to plan and go to lunch with our girls so we were surprised when Doug needed us to go give 4 two-minute speeches on TechTeach out by the library and SUB. 

 There was a rapper, singer and their manager and then me and Stephanie.

 We told all the Tech students about our innovative new program TechTeach.

 Public speaking has never been too big of a problem for me since I love to teach, but standing out in the middle of campus with no prep time and just talk is pretty crazy! 

One Sunday . . .

   before church a few weeks ago I took pictures of Madison.

Blue is definitely her color.

     Anytime she wears blue we get many compliments.

Plus she looks adorable in a sear-sucker dress!

1st Day of 1st Grade!

 Thankfully, both of her backpacks looked great so all we did was add matching lunchboxes so she could clip them on the outside like she has always wanted to do.  :)

 Mrs. Hisey had play-doh out for them to play with as they arrived.  We stayed for many one whole minute until we could tell it was time to go!

 After school we met Hudson and some other friends for Cup of Yo!

 It was the perfect celebration for the 1st day of 1st grade!

 Shelle said Tucker and Tripp both had great 1st days!

 I'm sure Maci missed all the craziness at her house!

We're looking forward to a great 2nd day!

The Weekend Before . . .

 I surprised Madi by picking up and bringing home her friend Maisen to play Saturday afternoon.

 Promotion Sunday at church.

 She wore her new earrings that I bought her while out shopping. 

  After church I went ahead and made her 1st Grade chalk sign so it was one less thing to do Monday morning.  We took a picture before heading to the pool

 We found the same swimsuit Margaret has and just had to buy it!

 After dinner, we went on a bike ride/walk with the dogs.

 

 Then we got ready for bed, read some books and said extra special prayers for the first day of school as a 1st grader!

Meet Mrs. Hisey!

 Thursday night was Meet the Teacher at Madi's school.

 She thought it'd be fun to wear the same dress as last year when she met Mrs. Olivarez.  :)

 Maisen and Madison are in the same class again this year!

 They each found their "mailboxes" in the mail center.

 We also took a picture of Mrs. Hisey and Maisen since her mom was meeting her 2nd grade class down the hall.

 I like to take a picture of Madi's schedule so I have it with me just in case.

We ate dinner at Blue Sky with Maisen so they could play in the sandbox.

It was so fun meeting Madison's teacher and got us all excited for Monday morning!
