Shadow Box

A friend of mine gave me a great idea on how to showcase Madi's dance recital each year.

She gets a shadow box and puts pictures along with something from the dance costume each year. 

This year I put her individual and class picture along with her headpiece and tap ties from the recital. 

 I don't think I ever posted a picture of last year's shadow box. 

I used the photos from the program along with her individual and class pictures but also added her bow and tap ties.

I love this idea! 

Chuck E Cheese

Our pool isn't open on Mondays so that's our day to do other fun stuff with the cousins.

This past week we ate lunch at Chick-fila then headed to Chuck E. Cheese to play some games.

Tripp, Madi and Tucker have the run of the place most times we go.

Then we put all their tickets together and everyone goes home with a "PRIZE"!

Just a Walking!

Every Saturday morning, we have been taking the puppies on a walk after breakfast.

Madison always wants to hold Noodle's leash.

I'm sure it's because she walks the slowest and doesn't run circles around her like Chicke and Sue do to us!

Father's Day

We started celebrating Father's Day weekend by making Daddy a golf cake.

 Madi is really starting to understand measuring, ingredients and recipes.

 She's becoming a big help in the kitchen!

I saw the idea on Pinterest and thought we had to try it.

Father's Day morning Madi gave Daddy his card . . .

 that she signed with her FULL name!

 Then the coffee mug . . .

 that we make each year with her handprints!

 I also found a cute idea of asking Madi questions about her Daddy and recording them for him.

I think it'll be fun to do every year and see how the answers change.

Just so you know, according to Madi her Daddy is "11" feet "2" inches tall and weighs "3" pounds.  His favorite tv show is "hockey and golf" and her favorite thing about him is "his ears, I mean his Ipad!"

Putt Putt

Since the weather has been a little too cold for the pool over the past few weeks we've tried to make the afternoons a little fun! 

So we headed to Putt Putt at Main Event the other day.

Madi was very serious about which color golf club she chose.

 The most exciting part was when Madi made a hole-in-one in the picture below. 

Her ball went through the long log and right into the hole.

I think we may have a future golfer in the family!

Maci Pictures

Monday night, we had over my brother and sister's family for dinner and dessert.

After all the fun, we took pictures of Maci since her first birthday is coming up in July. 

It's crazy to think she's almost one year old! 

 She did great sitting still and smiling at first but then she was ready to explore. 

We're going to try again soon for a few more smiles!

Kites & Bubbles

Last Saturday morning had the perfect weather for kite flying.

  So, we headed to the park and up, up, up the kite went!

Madi did a great job holding the kite steady as it flew.

 Then we stopped to blow some bubbles.

 Madi's favorite part was definitely taking the dogs on a walk around the park twice!

Then we headed to the pool!

Madi had Vacation Bible School this past week.  They had a sports theme which all the kids enjoyed.

 Our church took pictures throughout the week and made them available to all of us today.

It was nice being able to catch a glimpse of all the fun they had this week!

 Then last night, they had a program for the kids to sing to the parents. 

She's right below the yellow arrow.

We were so proud of Madi and how she learned new songs in just four days!

She LOVED VBS and can't wait to go again next year!

Dance Recital

Madi's 2nd Dance Recital was this past weekend.  Here she is back stage before the first performance.

 I snapped this pic with my phone right before she went out for the first time at the dress rehearsal.  Think she's excited? 

 We are so thankful that Landry and Madi were able to be in dance together this year.

 In between the two performances on Saturday we stopped at Spoonful for a frozen yogurt treat.

We enjoy recital time every year, but we are so glad when it's over too!
