Last Day of Kindergarten!

A fun little comparison of the first and last day of Kindergarten!

And again with the first day of Kindergarten with Daddy and the last day of Kindergarten with Daddy.

Mommy & Madi on the first day of school . . .
 And on the last!

She's grown up and changed in so many ways since that day back in August 2013!
And then in some ways she's still our silly little goob!
A few weeks ago we made a "Class of 2026" with one of Matt's old white shirts.
Madison made it colorful with fabric markers and voila! we have a new tradition.
It'll be neat to see that shirt get smaller and smaller with each passing year.
One last picture . . .
before she ran down the sidewalk . . .

and into the school for her last day of Kindergarten.
I went into work for a few hours since they released at noon on Thursday.
My friend Amy sent these pictures of Madi while the classes were outside have a water balloon fight in their autographed shirts!  So I headed to get her a little early and we met a bunch of friends for lunch at Blue Sky.  The kids played in the sandbox while we all visited one last time before fall.
I left work in a rush so Madi came back with me for a few hours.
A big perk of working with Dr. Button is all the great and NEW books she has on hand.  Madi read me book after book all afternoon!
Then we headed to Tripp's house for a quick celebration with his friends before they headed to Adrenaline City!
Maci, Tripp & Tuck

Then the littles came and spent the first night of summer at our house!
We were safely parked in our driveway! Thank goodness!
Back in our scrapbooking days Shelle and I saw a neat tradition to have your kids write their name on the same sheet of paper at the end of each school year.
One year down and MANY more to go.  :)
I started this tradition last year and continued on again this year.  Matt received the book Oh the Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss for a high school graduation gift so we've taken it and had Madi's past teachers sign it at the end of the school year.  It'll be neat to look back on years and years of teachers' thoughts and words.
Mrs. Olivarez sent home a first and last day of picture for us!
We started summer off by making Kool-Aid.  Our poor child has never made or had Kool-Aid at home.  :)  A packet of it came home from her teacher in a summer kit so we had to make it!
There was lots of bike riding and playing outside.  They had dinner sitting on the patio watching tv.
Matt and I thought it was a pretty great evening after we finished up bathtime and sat on the couch to watch a show.  Then I helped Maci use the restroom and wash her hands and saw this . . .
I had checked on her and thought she was being quiet but had no idea the work she was putting in to paint her ENTIRE feet!  I quickly texted my whole family that Maci's visiting rights had been revoked.

Madison's Last Week of Kindergarten

 The last Tuesday of Kindergarten!
Tuesday evening Aunt Shelle sent us this picture of Tucker in front of his new school Legacy.  He had just registered for Kindergarten!
Tuesday evening we went to Sparkman's Nursery for more plants.
Madi loves to help plant anything.
Must be the Heider-side of her! :)
 The last Wednesday of Kindergarten!
They had an awards assembly in their classroom Wednesday morning at 9:30am and the theme was "Catch a wave to 1st Grade!" so they all dressed up in Hawaiian clothes.
These pictures were the centerpieces on each table in frames that they had painted.
We were surprised by her choice!
We both figured she'd say teacher!
They had fruit and veggies as they listened to the awards.
They each received a Kindergarten Completion award.

And they also received an award that the whole class voted on.
We couldn't be more proud that all her classmates voted Madison as the Good Friend Award.  Mrs. Olivarez said she's kind to everyone!
Madi could not wait for Mrs. Olivarez to open her gift.  She loved her Kendra Scott earrings.
The last day of Kindergarten deserves it's own post all together.
Plus I have too many pictures!

Memorial Weekend!

 Matt's dream has finally come true . . .
Madi asks almost every afternoon if they can watch Star Wars together.
She even went and found the book Uncle Jacob bought her for Christmas. :)
Sunday after church Maisen came over to play since it was too cold to go to the pool.
They spent all 4 hours outside playing.

 And getting quite messy!
We stopped at the Farmer's Market for a few things and I waited in the car.
I had to take a picture of my two favorites.
Monday we braved the pool to attend the Memorial Day party.
Madi took her time getting in . . .
and only stayed in a few minutes before she agreed that her Daddy was right and it was too COLD!
It started to rain quite a bit Monday afternoon.

Which meant someone wanted to go outside and play in it!

We had a current where the alley met the street and it was white capping a little.

It made for the perfect rainy afternoon.

I took a video of Madi playing in the rain since it hardly ever happens in Lubbock anymore!
It went on to rain two more times that evening.  :)
