Fun with Friends!

Last Saturday afternoon, we met up with the Norrises at a new pizza place.

We had a family dinner Saturday night and played Phase 10.  The girls thought they needed lots of petting too!
This past week everything needing fixed on our house was finally done!  We've lived in our house for two years this past Thursday.  Our garage doors are all finally one color!
We hadn't seen the Renos or Devitts in a while so Wednesday we all met up for a quick happy hour!
Friday night, Madi had six friends spend the night.
Night swimming in January? How fun!
I think they all had a great time!

Christmas in January!

Madi at church . . .
Madi at school . . .
Our Sunday school class schedules our Christmas party in January since it's too hard to find a day in December we can all attend.  We've done that for a few years now and we all love it!
The Reeces hosted and had Rosa's catered for dinner.  We all brought a white elephant/gag gift. The best part was 3 different people brought Snoop Dog's From Crook to Cook cookbook as their gift. What are the odds!
Matt was one of the lucky winners!

So fun!

OKC for Volleyball!

We left for OKC last Friday for a two day volleyball tournament.
We stayed in a 21C museum hotel which was really cool.  There was art right outside our door with people there walking around.  Unique experience for sure!

Madi and some of her teammates went to a combine the night before the tournament.  It was her first experience and she said it was pretty good.
Coach Josh had these huge belts made to celebrate their hard work! Madi got the block party award for her work in the last tournament!  We'll see if she keeps it after the next tournament.

Saturday morning, it was time to play!  We didn't do so well in pool play but thankfully won two games during bracket play and ended the tournament on good note.  Our team is made up of 7 16 year olds and 4 15 year olds.  We played in the 17-18 open division with committed D1 players.  The girls were honored to be on the court with some of these players and didn't give up.

We had a blast experiencing OKC in the evenings!  The food was SO good!

Team pic!
Team pic with Coach Josh and Coach KK!
Her feet hurt so thank goodness she has a strong and NICE daddy to carry her to the car. :)
Here are some good highlights of the games!

Ready for our next tournament!

New Years Eve!

We got back from Vegas on New Years Eve just in time to celebrate!
We had over our friends and just had a snacky-dinner!
Madi spent part of the night with us and part at a friend's house for a NYE party!

Madi drove to Sonic and brought the girls back a pup-cone full of ice cream!

Madi's club volleyball team did a secret Santa but in January when they all returned to practice!
Whew! Christmas plus Vegas made it a fast and furious December!

Bruno Mars in Vegas!

We were so excited to head to the airport for Vegas!
We were excited that Elly could come with us.

We checked into our hotel which is where Bruno Mars would be performing so we had to get a quick picture by his sign!
Then we took off to the outlet mall.

After the outlets we had dinner back on the strip and did a few tourist-y things like the M&M store . . .
Walked the strip . . .

And watched the Bellagio fountains.
Breakfast at Alexia did not disappoint!

Day two, we headed to the Fashion Show mall after breakfast for more shopping!
We had to ride the tram!
And see the Bellagio all decorated for Christmas!

Then we escaped a room!

Had to enjoy dessert before dinner at Ghirardelli!
More shopping at the Coca-Cola store!

Then it was time to get ready for Bruno Mars!

The girls were finally ready!

We met some of Madi's friends and their parents for dinner before we all went to see Bruno Mars!

The next morning we were up early for breakfast and to head to the airport. But there weren't near as many smiles as before. :)
The girls found moody chocolate at the airport to lift their spirits!
It was such a fun trip!  So glad we went!
