Pickin' Pumpkins

Last Saturday, we had a family movie day.
Matt and Madi made brownies per her request.
Then we watched Spookley the square pumpkin.  It was a cute movie.

On Sunday, we went to lunch after church and did a little Christmas shopping.
Any time we go to the mall Madi thinks we have to go by the "mall library" (Barnes & Noble).
Then we stopped by the pumpkin patch.
And got quite a few pictures.
 Plus a silly scarecrow one!
We probably would've gotten more if the hay didn't itch Madi's legs.

This picture had me and Matt laughing so hard.  Everyone stared at us.  But right before the picture she was crying and rubbing her legs saying the hay was itchy.  Then she stopped and posed then went back to complaining.  It was too funny!
That evening Matt and Madi carved the pumpkin.
Surprisingly, Madison wanted a scary (sharp teeth) pumpkin this year but we settled on the one below.

 Happy Halloween!

Trunk or Treat

 Monday
Daddy came home from Vegas!
Tuesday

 Wednesday
Madison's class had a field trip to the Ranching Heritage Center on Wednesday.
Most of the girls before we started on the tour.
The kids had fun looking through old houses . . .
 exploring the train . . .
and posing for many, many pictures!
The assistant director was getting the next two shots (for a scrapbook, maybe???) so I thought I would too.
This class will always be so special to us.
 Girl Shot!
Madison S., Jadyn, Madison H. and Lauren
They had the cutest Texas Day lunch/party after the tour.  Each kid got cactus juice (green gatorade), pig 'n blanket, fritos and bean dip and a neat State of Texas cookie.

Lauren and Madison will go to school together next year.  Yay for new friends!
Wednesday evening was our church's Trunk or Treat.
Mommy and Madi before heading out.
Landry (Snow White) came along with us and we met Shelle and her family at Rosas for dinner then walked over to the Trunk or Treat.
 Madison & Landry
We rode the train ride before it got busy.
I love how her wings are sticking out.
We ran into Mrs. Canuel (Madi's assistant teacher) at her trunk.
After visiting all the trunks we headed to the games.
First, basketball.
 Then football.
 Then some "lasso"ing.
 Tuck's turn.
Miss Katie Jane was also a butterfly.
I had to get a picture of Matt next to this TALL guy.  He didn't want to but thanks for giving in honey!
 Thursday
Thursday night was Tripp's school's fall festival.
Aunt Shelle got us a ticket too so we tagged along.
The games were fun and thankfully in doors since it was getting cooler.
 Friday

It was such a fun, busy week that it makes it hard to believe that Halloween isn't until next Wednesday!

When the guys are away . . .

the rest of us PLAY!

Matt and Cody went to Vegas last weekend so we started our Friday evening at Blue Sky for some yummy food and sandbox time for the kiddos.

After a fun filled Saturday of soccer games and birthday parties we all crashed that night.

Then Sunday evening Tripp, Tuck and Maci came over for some cookie decorating . . .
 and some baseball outside.
Maci loved chasing after the kids and going down the slide (something needs to be done about the birds in our backyard!).
We were so glad when the guys came back home!

Birthday WEEK!

It feels like we celebrated Madison's Birthday Week and not just her BirthDAY!
It all started on Monday.  She's "Star of the Week" since it's her birthday so that included a whole bunch of extras.
First, we had to bring her "Star of the Week" poster to share.
Typical Monday picture
Tuesday, both Matt and I had an early morning meeting so Aunt Shelle took Madi to school and picked her up since I have class so no picture!

Wednesday morning, I used an idea from Pinterest and hung balloons upside down in her door way so she would have to walk through them when she woke up.
It didn't go as planned and we had to wake her up by calling her name from the hallway.

Many family and friends called to wish her a Happy Birthday!  She wasn't a big fan of the singing but we told her to get used to it.

Then we had birthday donuts for breakfast.
 Make a wish!
 Is that present for me???
We found this cute Nativity floor puzzle and activity book at Mardels a while back and thought it was perfect to get ready for Christmas.
Madi didn't have school on her birthday (we told her not to get used to it!) because we had parent/teacher conferences.  Of course we got a GREAT report and we're so happy that she's doing so well in Kindergarten.
After bible study, our conference and lunch at Chick-fila we met Tripp and Tucker at Main Event for some bowling.
 Mommy & Madi Celebrating!
 Daddy & Madi
The Birthday Girl!
Then it was game time!
I think Tripp actually beat Uncle Matt.
 Self portrait of the sisters!
 Basketball time . . .

And if that wasn't enough celebrating we ate dinner at Carino's and we got Madi a dip cone on the way home.
Thursday, Madi wanted to wear her party outfit since they were celebrating her birthday at school.
Yes, more celebrating!
We picked up pumpkin cookies on the way to school for all her friends to enjoy.
She also got to bring her favorite stuffed animal.
Packages from Grandma & Grandpa Heider and cousins Ethan and Owen arrived in the mail which is always FUN, FUN!
Friday, Madison had her first field trip of the school year.
Her class' artwork is on display at the mall outside Barnes 'n Noble.
They also had a book fair this week sponsored by Barnes 'n Noble.
Madison's whole class in front of their artwork.
Lauren & Madi had a gigglefest!
Mrs. Cude read them a story while waiting on the real story time and craft.
Afterwards, we met Shelle and our old play group at the mall and showed Tucker and Aunt Shelle Madi's artwork.
I feel confident that we celebrated Madison's 5th birthday VERY well!
Happy Birthday Madi!
