My First Backpack!

Madison's First Backpack!
She has always loved backpacks. They represent going to school like big cousin Tripp does everyday.
I promised myself I wouldn't get a special bag for her dance class starting soon but once I found this backpack I couldn't resist. Plus she is SO excited now to go to dance so she can take her backpack.
She immediately wanted to put her ballet and tap shoes in it among other things like books and balls.
She wore it for at least an hour when we gave it to her Saturday after nap.
Then she wanted to put it up on her hook so Tucker wouldn't get it when he came over!

Remind me . . .

to never try taking pictures right after naptime!
A lady at McDonald's this same morning said "oh is it picture day since they're all matching?"
Ummm no I guess I just matched Madi to her cousins without realizing it!
So after naptime Aunt Shelle said we should take a picture.
Here's the result . . .
(FYI Madi does have on pink bloomers! Wouldn't post this pic otherwise.)
Then the boys cooperated and I got this cute pic of them.
Oh well, there's always next time. Just not right after nap!

Are you ready for some football?

We are!
This year Matt's games will be played at the high school fields making it much more spectator friendly. So Madi and I will be going to more of his games this year.
Therefore, we needed a cute orange and white Atkins shirt!
I found this on etsy and LOVE it!

I love this picture of her!
I told Matt he should use this as his desktop background!

I asked her what the "A" on her shirt stood for and she started spelling her name! Anytime she sees letters she automatically assumes they spell M-A-D-I-S-O-N!
But she was close since there is an A in her name!
I think she'll really like watching her Daddy coach this year!
Go Tornadoes!

Future Dancer???

Not sure if Madison is destined to be a dancer but we're going to give it a try anyway!
She starts dance lessons in September and will take ballet and tap.
This is the first time Dance Gallery is having a class for 2 year olds so it should be quite interesting.
We got fitted for her shoes last Thursday.
Here she is showing her Daddy her new tap shoes!

The ballet shoes were a bigger hit even though the picture doesn't show it.
The ballet shoes were quieter so she liked them more. Weird, I know. Most kids love to click the tap shoes on the tile floor.

After we put her shoes on and showed her Daddy, I asked her if she wanted to wear these to dance class. And she said "No, I don't like these. I borrow them later."
Hopefully that changes before her first class!

Grandma's 60th Birthday!

We threw my mom a birthday luncheon for her 60th Birthday!
She's never had a party for her birthday before so we thought it was time to change that.
Here we all are AFTER the party. . . tired!
Cousin Melanie snapped pictures for us. She was really a guest but offered to take pics as well.
Thanks Melanie!
Grandpa & Grandma

Grandma and Aunt Bevie
Shelle and Morgan

Us!
Love this pic!
Running around outside during the party!

Uncle Cody and one tired Tuck

Before . . .
We went with a red/white polka dot theme. It's my mom's favorite color!
The cake table . . .
The cakes were delicious and from SugarBakers here in Lubbock. Yum!
Some beautiful flowers from friends of my mom's. . .
The sign in table with pictures of my mom throughout childhood. Plus a basket for people to bring a special memory or photo of my mom that I'll be putting into a scrapbook for her.
The "help"
We had a cheesy potato casserole, baked beans, brisket, sausage and rolls.
So many family and friends came to celebrate this special occasion with us!
My parents' small country church was the PERFECT place to have this party.
It was so nice to be able to celebrate the greatest Mom and Grandma ever!
Happy Birthday!
Here's too many, many more!

Mr. Potato Head

These kids crack me up!
Who would've thought that Mr. Potato Head glasses would mean hours and hours of fun?

Madi sportin' the look . . .
And Tucker . . .
The best part was that Tucker wore them ALL day long. If they fell off while he was playing, then he'd just put them back on and continue to play.

They didn't seem to bother him at all.
These pictures remind me why we always pull Madi's hair back with a bow!
Poor thing can barely see!

I can't wait to see what else they get into next!
