Summer is HERE!

We celebrated the last day of school by meeting friends at Blue Sky for lunch.  Then they all went over and played in the water on the trampoline at Gracie's house!

Nothing says summertime like mermaid hair!

Ten minutes plus some Kool-aid equals fun summer hair!

Sidney spent the night on Friday and the girls had fun playing and taking silly pictures.
Then just one hour after we took Sidney home the Dodson cousins arrived for the weekend!
Madi was so surprised and loved every minute of it!
We spent Saturday evening outside enjoying the sun going down!
Sunday morning we all went to church then met for lunch at Rosa's before the guys headed to golf.
We went swimming since it was so hot out.
And the kids got to see Matt and Cody on the golf course.
We played inside a lot too since it was so hot.
We grilled out for every dinner and just enjoyed visiting and watching the kids play.
On Monday, the guys golfed again so we went to the park, shopping, and lunch at Blue Sky!
And of course we stopped for ice cream before they headed back home!
Thankfully, we will see them again in early July!

Durango Get-away!

Matt and I headed to Durango to meet up with the Foleys right after Madi's piano recital.
This was our view from the cabin.  The cabin sits on the border to the national forest.
We spent our first day enjoying lunch outside . . .
 And some laughs while shopping!
Tuesday morning, we headed out to Silverton.

This is Silverton behind us.  It's a neat, little town.  We had the best time walking around, shopping and eating at Handlebars.
We had to stop and feel the water from a natural hot spring on the ride home.

When we got back to Durango, we went on a long hike.  If you look closely, you see how far down the water is from us.
We had the most relaxing, fun time with the Foleys.
May is such a busy month so it was fun getting away for a few days to just be together!

Final Week of 4th Grade!

Matt and I went on a little trip at the beginning of the last week of school.
Thankfully, the Masi family is wonderful and agreed to keep Madi for us.
Grandma was wonderful to step in and attend all the end of year events for Madi.
Tuesday was Madi's 4th grade Awards Ceremony.

 Madi's 4th grade class

She received Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance.  I didn't even realize that she didn't miss a day this year.  :)
Everyone sent me cute pictures of Madi throughout the week
Madi, Masien & Devyn
On Wednesday, Grandma went to Madi's talent show.  She and two friends, Ava & Elly, did magic tricks!
Thankfully, we were back Wednesday night so we could enjoy the last day of 4th grade.
They had a living museum Thursday morning where all the 4th graders shared about the person they had been researching.
Meet Mr. Scott Joplin . . .
Grandma to the rescue again!  Thankfully, Daddy was also able to attend last minute as well.
Grandma B. came along for the ride too!
I love our end of school year traditions.

Class of 2026 as a 4th Grader!  The shirt is getting a little smaller.
Her handwriting does change a little year to year.
I love that Matt got this book as a high school graduation gift and now it holds sweet words from all of Madi's teachers . . .

 Mrs. Williams & Mrs. Goolsby
You were good to us 4th grade!  But we are ready for summer!

Madi's Spring Piano Recital

Every May we look forward to hearing Madi play her spring recital piece.
Ms. Amy is a wonderful instructor and puts on a great recital.
It's hard to see Madi's name on the back side of the program.  It means she's getting to be one of the older kids!
She walked up there with such confidence and played beautifully.

Grandma and Grandma B. came to watch too!
Grandma brought her beautiful purple tulips and a giant Hershey bar.  She definitely knows her granddaughter!
