Texas Play

Last Thursday, we picked up Elly to celebrate her birthday since Madi missed her party while she was at church camp.  We first ate lunch at Chick-fila, then played at Altitude, and then spent the rest of the day playing at our house!
It rained while we were in the car and they both took pictures of the rain drops on our sun roof!  Poor kids hardly ever see rain!
Friday, Shelle and family were in town closing on their old house so we decided to have an early 68th birthday lunch/celebration for Grandma Mayberry!
The kids loved playing games and we enjoyed celebrating Grandma's upcoming birthday!
While Shelle and Cody closed on their house, the cousins spent the afternoon with us.  We played Clue and Tucker won!
It was also time for the polka dots Grandpa Mayberry made for Madi's room to come down.
A second display shelf was needed for Madi's trophies, medals and ribbons.

Saturday we drove to Palo Duro Canyon to see the play Texas with our Sunday School class.
All the kids!
 Our view at dinner . . .
The barbecue dinner was surprisingly good!
The kids took off hiking after dinner before the play started.
Most of our crew!  It was hot and we drove back super late but it was worth it!
Monday morning, Madi started a fun camp with her friend Raeley.
It's an arts & crafts camp so Madi signed up for cooking and sewing. So far she is loving it!

Family Vegas Trip!

Madi has always wanted to go to Vegas with us since we tell her all about the great shows we see!
So back in June, we decided to make a family trip to Vegas so she could experience the fun!  The plane ride is always a hit too!
The first night we stayed downtown at the Golden Nugget so we could ride the Zoom line.
All set in our gear . . .

This is not a picture of us but I wanted to remember what it was like to fly like Superman.  I may have screamed a little!
After cooling off, we went to the Tournament of Kings.  This girl loves riding the tram!

Our Knight didn't win but we had fun cheering him on. Dinner was fun too!
The arcade was calling Madi's name but sadly they didn't win a prize.

 Showered and ready for bed!
We got up early to have a great breakfast and head to the Shark Tank.

Here's where the slide ends that goes through the shark tank.  Madi was so excited to swim "with" the sharks!  It was neat to see sharks and fish as you went down the slide.

We cleaned up and headed to try out a trapped room.  Madi has always wanted to do one with us so we thought Vegas was the best place.  Thanks to her, we escaped!
 Enjoying a slushy drink!

We had some fun while shopping . . .

Monday night we went and saw the magician Matt Franco.  He was great!

Then we stopped for dessert and to watch the fountains at the Bellagio.

Madi filmed a little of the show!
The next two nights we spent at the Mandalay Bay on the strip.  They had an amazing beach, wave pool and lazy river.
We went to the pool first thing in the morning before it got too hot.
Then we had to visit the Hershey's store . . .
And the M&M store where we watched a cute little 3D film!
Madi loved the escape room so much that we tried another one and escaped again!  This one was hard and a little scary!

Then it was time for a quick dinner . . .

. . . and head to Love, the Cirque du Soleil show from the Beatles.  It was amazing!
More shopping and site seeing on our last day!  Madi found a backpack purse at the Coca-Cola store!
Riding the tram is so fun for this travel-loving girl!

A few pictures to remember the fun castle hotel!

And the Statue of Liberty!  ;-)
We reluctantly headed home Wednesday afternoon after a fun-filled trip!  But we already planned the things we want to do on our next family trip!
