LCP Homecoming Week

Last week, Madi's 6th grade fall pictures came in!

On Saturday, the Youth group from church met at Main Event for the afternoon.  They had so much fun playing laser tag, bowling, and more!
Sunday afternoon was our first Girl Scouts meeting.
They played so many games and had a great time while the moms talked about the yearly schedule.

Monday was western day for Homecoming week!
Every once and a while, Madi gets the crafty bug and decides to paint a canvas for her room!

Tuesday was animal print day but Madi opted to not dress up.
Wednesday was Twin Day so Madi and Gracie dressed alike.
Thursday was college/career day so madi dressed as a swim coach.
Madi's science fair project is well under way . . .
She definitely has a green thumb like her Grandpa Heider.
One of Madi's friends Raeley's mom (Amy) made Madi a mum for homecoming week.  We picked out a few things but she worked her magic and made this adorable mum!
Friday was Lubbock-Cooper's Homecoming so Madi wore red and black and her mum to school.

Unfortunately, we couldn't make it to the game since we had a camping trip already planned but we did enjoy celebrating the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates this week!
Friday morning, I joined some of my colleagues for a coffee social before starting the day.  It's always fun to spend a little time catching up with the people at work.
We have an adventure this weekend!  Pictures to come. :)

Reading with Madi

On Friday, Madi's ELAR teacher hosted a reading with parents day.
So, thankfully Matt and I were both able to go up there on Friday and just spend some time reading with Madi.
We took turns reading to each other then asking questions.
It was a new experience and we enjoyed being in her school with her.
Hope we can go to many more reading days!

On the Road

Saturday afternoon, Madi and I had a fun mommy and me afternoon.  We went to Starbucks and Hobby Lobby to shop for her homecoming mum.
She also rolled the dice for her daddy.  :)
We had lunch at church Sunday afternoon and Madi made me laugh when she did this!
I left for Indianapolis Monday so I guess I forgot to take a picture that morning!
Tuesday morning, I facetimed these two . . .

Tuesday night these two had a dinner date to Logan's!
Madi loved the little presents I left for her to count down the days until I return.
 Wednesday
One of the main roads I traveled was Madison Ave in Indianapolis so I had to take a picture.
I missed a fun patio night with friends on Wednesday.  But thankfully Matt was able to go!
Thursday I arrived home around bed time!
Friday
Come on Weekend!

Volunteering at the Dream Center

Our church volunteers at the Dream Center the second Saturday of every month.
Two Sunday School classes sign up for a Saturday.
We buy the food to feed 250 people that are homeless or food insecure.
Everyone pitches in and has a great time serving others.
The kids are getting older so they were able to do so much more this year.
All of them wanted to help and worked the entire time we were there.
Well, there was a little bit of down time before we began serving breakfast.
What a great way to spend Saturday morning!
