More Summer Fun!

Devyn spent the night Sunday night with us and Madi had me pull one of her loose teeth that night.  The next morning, Devyn asked what the Tooth Fairy had brought.  Oops!  Since Madi has never believed we've just given a small gift but don't make a big deal out of it so I had to quickly find a few dollars and write a note!  :)
Madi had a dentist check up Monday morning so Devyn tagged along.  They enjoyed getting a drink in the waiting room.
Then we met Aunt Shelle and cousins at Texas Water Rampage for a day of fun!
We stayed about 4 hours and we were all tired when we left!
Tuesday morning we met the cousins at Safety City so they could ride around "town" on their bikes.
Madi fell and waited for me to come see her since she sprained her ankle.
She waited there patiently and then popped right up.  We had to draw a chalk outline of her because we were laughing so hard.
Maci wanted in on the action too!

Fun times riding bikes!  We worked up an appetite so we went to Chick-fila for lunch before heading to the pool.
Tuesday evening we finally made the last tennis session of the summer.
It was so incredibly hot that my camera lens was fogging up!
Wednesday we met Aunt Shelle and cousins at the summer movie in the morning then met our friends Amy and her daughter Raeley at Villa for lunch then all headed to the pool.
That evening we rode our bikes up to J's Creamery for our church's 3rd-5th grade ice cream social.  Right when we got there they gave us $5 gift cards so we all enjoyed ice cream before heading back home.  It was a great ride from 109th to 82nd Street!
Madi had a blast running around after eating her ice cream!
Thursday morning we were all ready for Kids Day Out Thursday at church.
They spent the day playing games, worshiping and going to Texas Water Rampage!
Ms. Brenda took this picture of Madi at the end of the slide!
I wemt the office for a few hours while Madi was busy to get some work done.  I am so happy we got these in our building finally!  No more bringing gallon jugs up to work on the weekends!
Thursday night we made it to swim!
 Madi's diving has improved greatly!
She definitely spends half her summer in the water!

Happy Birthday Elora & Kiran!

Sunday afternoon we celebrated Elora & Kiran's 4th birthdays!
They love Anna and Elsa so we had to have a Frozen theme party!

Most of the kids played outside in the pool, on the slip n slide and trampoline but Kiran loved to play with Duke and in Maci's room.
Ready to sing Happy Birthday . . .

They got so many fun today and bikes too!

I know Grandma Mayberry loves watching Klay's girls grow up.
Sure wish Aunt Bevie was here to see them too.
Happy birthday sweet girls!

Heider/Paitz Family

Grandpa Heider sent a few pictures of the family from the wedding a few weeks ago that I wanted to be sure and post.
It's rare to get a picture of the whole family so we have to remember this!
Then we got one with all of the kids, spouses, and grandkids with Grandpa Paitz
Next year, we'll have a new cousin to add to the mix from Uncle Jacob and Aunt Bonnie!

Gone Fishin'!

Madi has been interested in fishing ever since she went with Aunt Shelle and the cousins and with her Daddy and some friends.
So, after all of our traveling for the summer was done, Matt went and bought fishing gear and got a license.
It wasn't too hot out so we headed to a fun little pond that our friends have fished at before and had good luck.
I enjoyed the view of my two favorite people spending time together while reading a good book in the shade.
 All set to fish . . .
Not long after casting her pole, she caught a little fish.
 Proud girl!
Thankfully, we had this guy to remove the hook and throw the fish back in the water.
They moved around the pond a bit and then Madi had another bite.
This fish was a lot bigger (Matt guessed 4-5 pounds)!
I think she has the fishing gene!
Matt didn't catch anything but Madi sure was happy with her two catches!
These two are planning weekly daddy-daughter fishing dates for the rest of the summer!

Cousins, Cousins, & Cousins!

Once we all got home from camp and the lake we tried to get in a little pool time with the cousins here in town.
Working on her running dive . . .
I forgot to post these pictures of Madi acting like her cousin Tripp when she was packing her hat for camp.

Finished up a few projects before a few Dodson cousins came for a visit.
Matt had a sweet family friend, Kennedy Tullos, write this verse for him in calligraphy so he could hang it in his office.  I finally got it framed so it's ready to hang!
Owen, Henry and Aunt Erin came over for an appointment for Henry so we packed in as much fun as possible while they were here.
Some frozen yogurt . . .
Hanging out around campus and in my office while I conducted a quick interview.  (Boxes of iPads and Swivls didn't bother them one bit!)
Walking across campus to my car . . . Someone is quite a bit taller than the one that's six weeks older!
We went to 50th St. Caboose for dinner.  The kids won so many tickets from the games and loved picking out prizes!
We did quite a bit of back to school shopping and this girl thinks she needs this shirt!
After lunch at Rosa's and the afternoon at the pool, we cooled off at Bahama Buck's and played a little headbanz!
Uncle Matt grilled our dinner of poppers, ribs and zucchini and squash.
Then the kids played outside for a few hours.  We made a fun obstacle course for them to follow.
Aunt Erin liked killing flies with our salt gun!
We were sad to see them go but we had a great time while they were here!
