We headed to visit my parents Friday after school let out.
We haven't visited since Thanksgiving so we thought it was a good time to go since it was just my dad's 65th birthday last Wednesday.
First stop . . . to visit the donkeys!
Madi showed Jack & Jill the picture she drew of her Grandma and Grandpa. I love the grey hair!
Sunday afternoon Matt and Madi planted a few seeds.
They planted a few herbs, some cucumber seeds and a sunflower.
Monday morning all ready for school!
Normally I chat with my mom or sis on my walk to Tech but Monday morning I was just enjoying the beautiful morning. The tree-lined walk way and fountain are both great ways to start my morning!
Monday afternoon I offered to keep the kids so Shelle could go to the store.
Maci would stay laying down in Tucker's room so I put her on Matt's side of the bed and told her not to move. And she fell right asleep!
Madi has started bringing home books to read from school twice a week.
She's supposed to read to us and anyone else that will listen.
So far our dogs, Tucker and Grandma Mayberry (over the phone) have been the lucky recipients.
Tuesday morning, Madi wanted to take a picture out front.
Wednesday was warm so we broke out the short sleeved shirts and shorts!
I was in the mood to clean so I would rearrange the furniture different
ways and text pics to Matt for his opinion. Thank goodness he doesn't
mind!
Wednesday afternoon we had to miss dance so we could go register Madi at her new school for the fall.
It's crazy but 4 out of the 10 in her class now will be going to the same school Cooper Central!
While we filled out paperwork Madi was busy taking pictures of Hudson.
And Jayden.
It's blurry but I tried to take a picture real quick of the teachers taking the kids to visit the classrooms while we finished registering.
Afterwards, we all planned on having a park play date to celebrate registration but it was super windy so we all met at Cup of Yo! instead. :)
Shelle called and asked about how many ounces in a quart or something like that so I found this neat graphic on Pinterest to help remember all the conversions and sent it to her.
Madi's herbs sprouted up out of nowhere!
She moves them to three different locations in the house to maximize sunlight until they can move outdoors. I think she may have the green thumb of the family like Grandpa Heider?!? :)
Thursday it was back to cold weather again!
So I taught Madi how to play Go! Fish!. One of my favorite childhood games.
Tortellini was on the menu but Matt surprised us by saying "let's go to Roadhouse, girls!" So off we went! :)
Friday morning Madi brought me a picture of the life cycle of the butterfly and explained all the stages. Pretty impressive! She wanted to send her Daddy a picture to show him too.
The plants have all sprouted up and we couldn't be more excited!
You would think we had never seen plants before with how excited we get each morning when we check them. :) The herbs might not all make it since Madi dropped them and spilled all the soil on the carpet. We put it back best we could so now we just have to wait and see.

Friday night we stayed in and cooked steaks on the grill and made brownies.
The perfect beginning to the weekend.
