Raising the Flag!

Tuesday - This Sentinel girl wanted to take a hot chocolate to school to stay warm during her morning duties.

 First time raising the flag . . .

 Wednesday - She turned in her project board and model of the star Vega.

Thursday

 Thursday after school Grandma Mayberry went early to pick up Madi so she could take pictures of her taking down the flag.

 Thursday evening we went to dinner at the Foley's house which isn't typical for a school night but it sure was fun!

Thank goodness it's Friday!

Madi & Mom Day!

This past Saturday was Madi's first time selling Girl Scout cookies at booths with her troop.  We first sold at Lowe's then Market Street on Saturday. 

 Then on Sunday we sold at Lowe's after church and a United that afternoon.  These 7 girls are already half way to their individual goals in one week!

 Saturday night we went to The Funky Door to celebrate Raynie's 40th birthday. She also found out that we are all going to Vegas to celebrate even more with her in a few weeks!

 Madi and the Foley kids put on a show for us when we got back from dinner.  We were good sports!

 It was quite the show!

 Sunday evening we played Cranium and I got this action shot of Matt acting out "jumping out of a plane with a parachute!"  Madi got it!  We had a great family dinner and game night!

 Monday, Matt had to work so it was just me and Madi.  We made a day of it . . . 

First we went and bought her a new water bottle for school, then had a Starbucks date, . . .

 Then we painted bowls for the puppies at Clay Cafe.  They say "thirsty" and "hungry" on them. 
She wouldn't smile for me!

Then we went shopping for a new robe for her then met Matt for lunch.  We spent the afternoon watching our show together and enjoying a lazy day!

Girl Scout Cookie Time!

Last Saturday, we picked up our first set of Girl Scout cookies to sell!

 Monday was her first day as a Sentinel so she had to be at school super early.  It was still dark out. 

 Tuesday - still super early and hard to get a picture in the car!

Sock Hop Night at Cotillion

Friday night was their last night of cotillion for their 5th grade year!

 It was a Sock Hop theme so the girls dressed in adorable poodle skirts!

We all met at Holly Hops, a local 50s themed ice cream diner.

 The kids had fun drinking coke out of glass bottles and ice cream from the counter.

 And we had to take a few pictures by the jukebox.  Madi thought it was called a time machine!  :)

Then it was off to the Lubbock Country Club for the dance.

They all looked adorable and had a great time!

Chosen to be a Sentinel!

 Tuesday 

 Tuesday afternoon, Madi came home with a paper saying she was chosen to be a Sentinel for the next six weeks. Sentinels help greet students as they arrive to school, raise and lower the flag, etc.  It's a great honor since only a few students are chosen each six weeks.  She starts next Monday and is so excited.  She arrives at school early each day to prepare for her job.

On Friday, they all wore their new Student Council shirts! 

 Saturday morning was Girl Scout cookie time!

We loaded our car with cookies so we are ready to start selling them!
