Theater Camp

This is how we hammock . . .
On Sunday, all the kids went to the front of the sanctuary and sang their VBS song.

Madi was definitely getting into it!

After church we went to lunch at Mamarita's with the Foley's.  It may become our new after-church lunch spot!  Mexican food while sitting out side on the patio!
Sunday afternoon we met Stephanie and Margaret at a Cup of Yo! near Justice since we needed to a little birthday and back to school shopping.
Margaret came home with us to play for a few hours.
They had so much fun putting on skit after skit for me!
The blue streak didn't last long so we did the tips at home.  Turned out cute!
Ready for theater camp Monday morning!
Madi is an orphan in the play Annie so this is our neutral, orphan outfit for the play Friday night.
Wednesday we met the cousins at the library to turn in their reading lists.  They love to read and get prizes.  Madi went home with them and them to CiCi's Pizza for dinner and Joyland.
While Madi was riding rides at Joyland we were at Trapped! escaping the Backyard room with the Foleys and Wharffs.  Then we had drinks and dinner at Gator's.  Definitely a great dinner spot that we will be going to again!
Since we love Trapped! so much I've offered us up to be testers for his new rooms.
So we were the next to last testers for him Wednesday night and we had the best time overall with 23:17 minutes left!

Miss Houdini!

In Vegas, we stopped in a neat Houdini shop so of course we walked away with some magic tricks for Madi.
Here she is practicing her card trick on Grandma Mayberry.
More practice is needed but she loves to learn magic tricks!
We also got her these neat lights . . .

I've ALMOST finished the last wall in our guest room.  I saw a neat idea to frame family favorite recipes in family members' own handwriting.  So Grandpa Heider wrote our favorite fudge/frosting recipe from his mom, Grandma Heider wrote her famous biscuit recipe and Grandma Mayberry wrote her yummy chocolate cake recipe.  Now if I can just get around to hanging them up.
I went to Houston on Monday for a quick work trip and while I was texting Madi she sent me these pictures of her day . . . puppies sleeping on her.
And a healthy snack of snow peas, watermelon, tomatoes and pickles.  :)
Then Matt sent me this picture Monday evening.
Headed back home on Tuesday - Me, Dr. Lesley, Jody and Allison
We met the cousins for lunch on Wednesday before heading to the pool (plus Maci's friend Kambree).
Madi loved VBS all week long!
 VBS picture of her class!
At her school program, they've been doing all sorts of fun art projects with chalk, paint, stamping and more . . .

Thursday night was family night at VBS.  On the way out, Madi and Maisen ran through a sprinkler!
Madi was teaching everyone how to dive at the pool on Friday.
Then we all went to Bahama Bucks for an afternoon treat on a hot day!

The blue streak didn't last too long in Madi's hair so we decided to try Kool-aid.  We'll see how it works!
Farmer's Market fun Saturday morning.  We bought steaks for tonight's dinner, sausage and more.
Then Grandma and Grandpa Heider came to town for a fun visit.
Cracker Barrel for lunch and walking around a nursery is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.  Plus the weather was in the 70s which made it even better!

Father's Day 2017

Thankfully, we got back from Vegas in time to get this cutie from the lake so we could spend Father's Day as a family!
A few windy pictures before church.

We met my parents for a good lunch then headed home to relax after our busy week.
And of course, Matt opened his annual coffee mug complete with Madi's hand prints.
We joke about how much longer both of her hand prints will fit on the mug!
Here are a few pictures back in late May when she made the mug.
He loved the "Hello!" message inside the mug.

We are so thankful for such a good Daddy in our lives!
