Spring Break . . . Quarantine Break!

We had some fun plans for spring break but those were all changed when the quarantine hit.
Instead we had fun at home.  Madi had pizza bites in San Antonio that she loved so we recreated them at home.
Madi wanted a casual picture for her NJHS ceremony coming up so we took pics outside.
The weather was so nice on Saturday so we spent the afternoon reading outside.
And of course we have a family puzzle going . . .
Matt started working from home so Madi enjoyed making him a fun lunch.
Entertainment now includes videoing her doing toe touches . . .

I still went in to work on Monday and Tuesday and enjoyed the beautiful tulips.  Decided to take a picture since it might be a while before I see them again since I started working from home on Wednesday.
We continue loving family breakfasts with a few rounds of Phase 10 to get the day started!
On Wednesday, we drove to our church's parking lot and taught Madi how to drive Matt's truck.
 She did so good!
Then we went by Market Street for a few groceries on our way home.  We got Madi a Starbucks treat too since it may be a while before we are out again.
Thursday we participated in Chalk your Walk that we saw on Facebook.
The idea was to decorate your sidewalk with inspirational sayings or something fun and then drive around your neighborhood and see what everyone did.
Madi and I made a fun hopscotch!
A little boy and his grandpa were our first visitors!
Loved spending this time with our girl even if it was super windy!
Before we went in to make dinner, I had to video her front walk over. :)

Dressing up and playing with make-up to pass the time.  We've been so impressed that Madi has stayed busy every day.  She picks one thing to clean or organize and then does something new and fun everyday too.  We've started running a mile together everyday at lunch.
Friday we had a lunch picnic in Madi's room while we watched a movie.
Madi played a joke on Matt that she saw from a friend.  She said "Daddy, hurry there's water coming from the toilet!"  He jumped up and then laughed when he saw this . . .
Today, we did yoga as a family.  This is Madi perfecting the rock pose she said as we were waiting on Matt to finish up a call.
Spring break is official over but now we have another week of spring break before online instruction starts on March 30.  Definitely a new normal for us but thankful for my 3.  We have been making the best of it and actually enjoying the slower days together.

The Week before Spring Break!

Monday - Gotta love time change!
Tuesday
 Wednesday
Wednesday afternoon, we picked Madi up from school early and headed to San Antonio to cheer on Tripp and his team at the state basketball tournament.
We stopped in Junction for dinner and ate outside at a fun BBQ place.  I took M & M's picture so Madi took mine with the resident cat of the place.
We got to San Antonio just in time to go to bed.  Then the next morning we were up and ready to cheer on the Jayton Jaybirds!

 My favorite basketball player . . . #0!
Sadly, it wasn't the outcome we had hoped for but that's okay.  It was a great season!
We didn't stay sad long.  It was on to the river walk . . .

Then we toured the Alamo . . .

Then we swam in the heated pool for the rest of the afternoon.
That night we ate at Dave & Busters and the kids had a blast playing games.
The virtual reality ride was so fun to watch!

We didn't leave until almost 10:30pm.
And then we walked back to the hotel and passed by the Alamo again so we had to take a night picture too.
The next morning we got up early and had breakfast then went on a riverboat ride down the river walk.  We had the best tour guide and learned all about San Antonio's history.
We spent the rest of the morning walking around the river walk and enjoying the scenery.

We found a momma duck and her 6 babies.  They were adorable.  One wanted to follow Madi so we had to scoot it back in the river.
We decided to head home a day early since Jayton didn't win and the tournament was canceled.  But not before stopping for ice cream for lunch!
Nothing says vacation like having ice cream for lunch!
We got home and checked the mail to find out that Madi was accepted into the National Junior Honor Society.  We are very proud of her!
What a wild ride cheering on the Jayton Jaybirds.  So thankful for Tripp and his team!
