Madi LOVES Clifford & Henry!

Last night, Clifford was at the library. This is a picture of Madi right as I told her we were going to see Clifford. She was excited!

We got there a little early (imagine that!) so Madi went straight for the Clifford book section and found the last one.

Madi and Nora waiting for story time to begin AND to meet Clifford!
Our sweet friend Nora!
After a few stories, Clifford came to see all the boys and girls!
Madi was just fine when he walked in and yelled "it's Clifford!"
She was doing so well until I asked her if she wanted to go take a picture with Clifford. Then it was over and she wanted to go home! I guess Clifford was okay as long as he was at a distance!
Last week, Madi and I made a girls only road trip to meet her new cousin Henry.
He was so little and precious!
Here's Madison with her Grandma and Henry.

Matt's last day is Friday and then it's SUMMERTIME!!!
We can hardly wait to get to the pool!

Playing with Play-doh!

Madison's Grandma and Grandpa got her some play-doh for Christmas that we have yet to open. I put it up in her closet and forgot about it. So it was a nice surprise this past Sunday afternoon for Madi to play with while I was making dinner (Daddy was out playing golf!).
She loved it!
She only tried to eat it once and said "I don't like it!" So I said "well that's a good thing since you aren't supposed to eat it silly!"

Busy, busy!
She was naming all the colors of play-doh and made a snake and a ball.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a fun toy to play with! Sorry it took me so long to give it to her. But now I think we'll be playing with it a lot more!

Grandma & Grandpa

Madison's Grandma and Grandpa (Matt's parents) came for a visit last Saturday. She had so much fun visiting with them even though she wasn't in the best mood.
Here she is getting tickled by Grandpa!

They took us to Cracker Barrel (my favorite) for breakfast then we walked through a nursery looking at plants afterwards. Madi kept saying "oh, look at the bootiful plants!" or "ah, they're so bootiful!" It was too funny.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a great visit!

Spring Time is FINALLY Here!

Here's just a cute picture of Madi the other day. She now says "Mom, take my picture please!"
I told Matt for Mother's Day I wanted a table and umbrella for out back so we could eat dinner outside occasionally. Madi helped set everything up.
Not sure about this picture! I don't remember why she was making that face.
She helped take everything apart and even took the trash to the dumpster.

She pointed and screamed "umbrella." Hopefully the weather will be nice this weekend so we can eat a few meals outside!
Our usual pre-church photo shoot!
I just love these two!
Madi loves going to church and in her words "go learn about jesus with my friends!"
Mommy & Madi
For some reason she wanted her picture taken all the way at the neighbors' house.
Strange kid!
Funny story - Since keeping Tucker (my nephew) I've noticed how different he is from when Madi was his age. He just plays differently and likes different things.
Well, I kept hearing a "ping" sound over the last few weeks and then finally caught him dropping the play kitchen silverware into the air vent! I could just see his mind working - "this would fit in that slot!"
So, this past weekend I had Matt removed the vent and this is what we found. I had no idea he'd put that much in there. Matt said he also found a saltine cracker with only one bite out of it!
Ugh! BOYS!
Madi told Tucker to sit down so she could read to him. That's nothing unusual in this house. She usually reads to him daily and she ALWAYS tells him what to do. But I just had to snap a few pics when I saw her book of choice this day . . . the Bible!

He seemed to be a pretty good student. He stayed still until she was through!
Now that I'm done teaching my Wednesday Tech classes we can go to story hour at Barnes and Noble on Wednesday mornings. Madi went right up and sat where the storyteller is supposed to sit!
So her friend Nora decided that if she was going to sit there then she needed a book to read to all the kiddos! Too funny!
Listening to a story about pirates . . .
Chewing on her "pirate hook."
Making her pirate hook out of foil.
Listening with Nora and Lydia.
Overall, story time was a huge success. They made hooks, listened to the story, answered questions, colored a pirate picture and helped clean up. I'm sure we'll be there again next week!
