Friends & Painting!

Every once and a while you just have to have a glow in the dark bath.
After church, we went to lunch with the Daniels and then Maisen came over to play and meet G.V.
They played for over 4 hours then the rest of the Daniels came over for dinner.
 Monday
Tuesday she was a twin with Maisen then they went to tumbling.
I'm pretty sure Madi can eat her weight in raspberries.
 Wednesday
 Thursday
We went on a real quick walk/skate after school but before piano.  We wanted to get outside before the colder weather arrived.
 Friday
After school on Friday I felt the laundry and dishes calling my name.
But I decided to ignore the voices and paint with Madison!
This little one fits perfectly in our family.
We already can't imagine life without GV!

Our Newest Fur Addition!

The Back Story:  Around the middle of October, Matt and I talked about getting another dog.  We put Sue P. down in July and wanted to wait a while until deciding about another dog.  But we knew with our long cruise in December that we should wait until after Christmas.  Then the second week of January there was a news story (and I NEVER watch the news) about a guy that hoarded dogs.  He had 80 dogs total which included 30 chihuahuas.  That was our sign since we wanted a rescue dog.
We saw this sweet 3-month old face on the SPCA's Facebook page and decided to meet her Friday afternoon.
Her birthday is right around Matt and Madi's birthdays which was around the time we decided to get another dog.  She's definitely a Daddy's girl.  She even whines when he leaves the room.
Her name:  Back before we got Sue P. I told Matt I was thinking of Campbelle for her name.  Campbelle's Chicke 'n Noodle, get it?  :)
He said "No way! We don't like brand names we'd have to name her Great Value."  So Sue P. it was.
Well this time I told him we had to name her G.V. for Great Value.
So G.V. it is!  We also call her geeves.
Chicke 'n Noodle weren't too sure at first but have slowly warmed up to her.
They followed her around for quite a while (Matt just trimmed our trees).

Madi said she's the best thing ever!
And she said "I can't believe we have a new dog!"

Madi wanted a picture of her as her background on her iPod.
 G.V.'s first selfie!
Aunt Shelle and the kids came over for dinner Friday night and were able to meet the new addition.
She slept in Matt's lap for two hours that night.  She is definitely a keeper!
Madi made a small snowman while she played with the dogs outside.
G.V. showed us her tricks when Madi threw a ball for her.  She hops like a rabbit!
I'm so thankful we were able to give her a home!

A Short Week!

Monday was MLK day so we enjoyed a day at home.
The weather was nice enough for us to meet Aunt Shelle and the cousins at Maxey park and then go to lunch.
 Tuesday
My favorite dessert of all time has to be banana pudding.  Lucky me, my mom was in town keeping Shelle's kids since she has to teach Wednesday mornings bright and early so she brought me my own serving of banana pudding!
 Wednesday
 Thursday
Saw this on Facebook I think.  Not sure our dogs could even jump inside but thought it was super cute!
We had a two hour delay Friday morning so we spent the time playing outside in the snow and decorating the house for Valentine's Day!

All ready for school at 10 o'clock!
Dr. Button had already invited us to a celebratory lunch at the West Table today at 11am so with the delay it meant no work for me!  I did still make my appointment with a principal at 2 but that's it!
The restaurant was very nice and only takes reservations which is new for Lubbock.  It's a farm-to-table concept with a baker on site.  Two thumbs up from me!

Skating!

Madison has been asking (BEGGING!) for skates ever since she skated at her friend Sidney's house last weekend.
So Saturday afternoon we headed to Academy.

She ended up choosing some beginner roller blades instead of regular skates.
 Much to her Dad's delight!
So now they can skate together!
It really is amazing how fast she can learn to do something when she actually WANTS to do it.

I'm glad the weather cooperated so we could get outside and enjoy some sun!

Poet, Artist?

 Monday
She's getting braver on the medium diving board.  Doing a pike!
 Tuesday
Wednesday - scarves are definitely cute on her!
 Thursday
2 students' poems out of the 6th grade were chosen to be published in a book.
Tripp was one of them!
Here's his poem . . .
At Madi's school, all the students can design a shirt for Olympic Day shirts and they'll choose a winner.
I hope the judges like cats.  :)
Some of the details she showed me:  She put fish on the trophy. She added the torch and Olympic rings.  And the crown on the cat's head has 2015 with OD in the middle for Olympic Day!

Friday
I didn't feel well this week so I laid around alot.
To make up for it, we invited Maisen and Sidney to the Science Spectrum after school on Friday.
Sidney was going out of town but these two had fun.
I've kept Ms. Sophie a few times before for a co-worker while she makes a day trip to Dallas to teach.
She gives Chicke 'n Noodle something to bark at so everyone is happy!
