Piano Lessons

Thursday morning all ready for school!  

 Thursday after school we headed to Madi's first piano lesson with Ms. Amy. 

 She has four books and "homework" each night that she needs to practice. 

 She loved showing us what she has already learned.  :)

First Day of School!

 Madison on the first day of Kindergarten at Cooper Central!

 She wasn't too happy about wearing tennis shoes but since they have PE everyday and recess I didn't want her to have to change shoes the first day.

 Packing her lunch, snack and backpack was definitely a hit with Madi.

 We saw where she can sit in the cafeteria and watch a movie if I need to drop her off early.

 A sweet friend texted me this picture of Madi at lunch on the first day.  

Our friends' son Jake is in Madi's class and has a severe allergy so she went and checked on him at lunch.

 Grandma came with me to see how "pick up" was done since on Tuesday she picked up Madi for me while I had a meeting.

So we had to celebrate the first day by taking Grandma to Red Mango.  Then we met Uncle Rod, Aunt Shelle, and all the cousins at Red Lobster for dinner.  Perfect way to end a great first day!

She just had to wear her Toms today since Coach Sierra said that they could wear Toms in PE.  :)

This has been such a good first week of school!

Meet Mrs. Olivarez!

 Meet the Teacher night was last Thursday evening.

Madi picked her cubbie and seat and then looked through her supplies.

The school raised enough money last year to buy ALL the supplies.  

That was a nice touch!

 This is Madi's second hug with Mrs. Olivarez.

 We talked through her schedule and she seemed very excited about recess the most.  :)

 Sunday night (the night before school) we headed up to her playground at school so she could play and see it again before the first day.

 The playground is pretty fun!

 I think this really helped!

Almost Time for School!

 As summer is winding down, we are trying to enjoy the last few days before school starts! 

We tried Red Mango for a change in hopes they had more flavors that Matt would like.

 Madison asked for me to take her picture one morning.  I guess in preparation for a daily picture once school starts!

 Last Friday night, we had a barbeque at the Dean's house.

They had bubbles for the kids to play with!

 Madi and Margaret play so well together.

Thank goodness they have each other as Stephanie and I are working a bunch together.

 Saturday night, we went to the Foley's for a cook out with all the families of Matt's bible study group.  They meet every Friday morning at 6:30am at Market St. 

So we thought it would be good for all of us to hang out once and a while.

 There were 10 adults and 12 kids!

Perfect for a dance party!

All we need now is for school to start!

 We visited Matt's family in Roswell this past weekend and got a great picture of all the grandkids!

 Helping Grandpa pick the garden is a must!

 She even found an empty egg.

It was such a fun day of visiting family!

New Schedule

These last few weeks we have been finding our new "normal."

There's still a bunch of sandbox time though. Especially with all the rain we've had!

Madi and her Daddy took advantage of the cool weather last week and played golf one evening.

I asked for a few pictures and I got these with her hands in the air.  :)

Matt picked up Madi from the pool one afternoon and she took a bath right when they got home.  I get this picture and a text saying "she picks her own hair now?" 

I think he was partly surprised and sad that she's getting so big and secretly REALLY happy all at the same time.

It was in late February or early March since we were packing up to move to our new house.

Heider Family Game Night! 

 Matt bought Sorry! at the store so we could have a family game night!

It's the perfect game for us.

Because of time, we only played with two game pieces each.  It's hard to tell in this picture but my two red pieces are still at home and Madi's two yellow pieces already won. 

She was pretty happy about winning!
