Happy 41st Birthday Matt!

I presented at a conference in Dallas so we decided to make a family weekend of it and celebrate Matt's birthday going to a Stars game!
Being silly on the airplane . . .
We landed, got our rental car, checked into the hotel, then hit the mall!
We celebrated this guy's 41 years on Earth with a yummy lunch/dinner and dessert at Cheesecake Factory.

It wasn't Madi's birthday celebration but somehow we ended up in Vera Bradley buying her a new backpack and lunch box. :)
Then it was off to the Stars game!
We went down to the ice to watch the team warm up . . .

It wasn't the outcome we wanted but we had a great time together!
Sunday morning, these two headed home while I stayed to get prepared for my presentation.
Breakfast of champions at the airport waiting on their flight . . .
Sunday afternoon, Madi helped her Daddy in the garage.

It sure was a memorable birthday celebration!

H.E. Butt Foundation Camp

 Monday
We found out this week that Madi was accepted into the H.E. Butt Foundation camp.  She wrote an essay and was recommended by many of her teachers to attend the leadership camp in December.
 Tuesday
Wednesday was Super Hero Day for a pep rally at school.
Thursday it was still dark outside when Matt took Madi to school for FCA.
 Friday
We sent Uncle Rod a Happy Birthday message on Friday for his 46th birthday!  It was definitely a special birthday!
Friday night we went to our Sunday School's Halloween party dressed as Netflix and Chill while Madi and Gracie spent the night at our house.

I cracked up at Adam's costume!

Greg and Adam got Matt the coolest gift . . . a custom made magical hat with dice on 5 and 6.

We decided to celebrate Matt's 41st birthday on our upcoming Dallas trip!

Happy 12th Birthday Madison!

For her 12th birthday, Madi wanted to have a camping slumber party!
Pinterest had some cute camping party ideas like these tin pans for plates.
We borrowed our friends big tent since ours only sleeps 4 and we were set!
As the girls arrived, they put their sleeping bags and pillows in the tent and then started painting a bird house.
A quick game of basketball started up as everyone was finishing their bird houses.
Then it was time for the girls to grill their own dinner . . . sausage wraps!

After eating sausage wraps, chips and fruit, it was time for cake and presents!
A lady at Matt's work also bakes cakes so Madi was excited to have one of her yummy cookie cakes!

Happy Birthday dear Madison!

Then it was present time!  Her friends know her so well . . . air pod cases, decorations in her room colors and more!

Then we played a few rounds of camping bingo.
Everyone one at least one round and we had little squishies as prizes.
As it got dark, it was time to change into warm pjs for the night!
You can't have a camping party without making smores over a campfire!
We had tons of glow stick necklaces and bracelets for the girls to wear!
Before starting the movie outside on the lawn, each girl made a fun popcorn mixture to enjoy during the movie.
I loved seeing all the girls in pjs ready to watch a movie outside . . .
They only got about 30 minutes in before it started to sprinkle.  We didn't want the laptop or projector to get too wet so they finished the movie inside on the couches.
They all made it all night sleeping in the tent.
They woke up around 7am to fresh donuts spelling out "Happy 12th Birthday Madison."
They had cute orange juices in cartons and finished off the rest of the fruit!
Hot chocolate with marshmallows completed the breakfast.  The rest of the morning they just ran around playing and talking until everyone was picked up by 10:30am.
Pinterest also had these cute little hobo sacks as a party gift idea.
Madi said it was a great party!  We sure enjoyed celebrating our big 12 year old!
