Last Lady Pirate Volleyball Game 2020 Season

We taught Madi how to deal blackjack, now it's become a fun family evening game. :)

Why yes my 13 year old wanted to go see the new HEB so we went at 7:15am before school on Thursday.  We found a few good finds!

Madi finished up her breakfast Thursday morning so when I got home from taking her to school I saw this "Caution Hot Stove" note left for me.  So thoughtful!

Thursday was our last game of the Lady Pirate 2020 season.  We played Heritage again and thankfully won!  We won 25-11, lost 12-25, and then won 25-19.

After the game, Coach Henderson was having one last talk with the girls!

We celebrated with a late dinner at Blue Sky!

I found this picture on the LCP Volleyball FB page.  Love this team!

Friday we had to turn in Madi's jersey.  Sad the season is over but man it was a fun ride!
Way to go Lady Pirates! #18
We are thankful that club volleyball starts soon!  Thursday nights just won't be the same!

Volleyball, Volleyball & Birthdays!

Sunday after church, Madi and Briley used the gym at their school to warm up for club volleyball tryouts!
Their school season is almost over so we are excited about starting club ball soon!
On Wednesday right before church, Madi and Elly had a Google Meets call with their volleyball coach since she was out on quarantine.  Coach Henderson wasn't going to be able to be at their game on Thursday so she wanted to talk to the team the night before.

Thursday's game against Evans didn't end the way we wanted it.  We lost the first two games 25-19 and 25-6.  It wasn't our best for sure, but Madi continues to learn the game and get better each week.

We enjoyed a family night on Friday.  It was cold enough for a fire finally!  We went and bought new knee pads, checked on the progress at the new house, shopped for some new clothes, Madi and I watched our show in the hot tub, we taught her how to deal Blackjack, and we enjoyed a nice quiet family night at home!

Saturday was all about celebrating this guy turning 42!  He and Adam did some fixing up around our house since we'll list it soon.  He also smoked a brisket all night/day.  We had the Lewis' and Foleys over for an amazing dinner while all 8 kids hung out at the Lewis' house.  Matt picked out a new guitar for his birthday! The Lewis' gave him some whiskey and the Foleys made homemade cherry pies - his favorite!  He said it was a great birthday and he felt well celebrated!
Sunday after church we met at 50th St. Caboose for dinner to celebrate Matt and Uncle Rod's birthdays since they are the 24th and 25th!

So thankful for this family of ours!

Madi's 13th Birthday!

Madi's birthday weekend started out with a cookout with the Foley and Lewis families.
Briley, Allison and Jessica spent the night at our house and helped us celebrate the birthday girl on Saturday morning!  Donuts and balloons were there as they woke up!
Then she opened up Grandma and Grandpa Heider's card and the gifts from us.
I think it's safe to say she loves Lululemon!

Then we took a few pictures to remember our sweet girl turning 13!

After taking pictures, I snuck away "to the store" when I was really setting up a fun birthday surprise.  Madi decided she didn't want a party this year since her friend group is getting so big with church, volleyball, school and family friends.  So, I texted her and said the wind had died down so let's try to take a few more pictures outside since I'm almost home from the store.

Matt helped out by getting her outside as we were pulling up . . .

She was so surprised to see me with Payton, Briley, Elly, Ava and Maisen (and Briley's mom Sabrina) ready to whisk her away for an afternoon of shopping with friends!
I gave them all $30 and told them to order their favorite drink from Starbucks.
Then Sabrina and I followed them around the mall so they could shop for a few hours!
Shopping works up an appetite so it was time to eat!
Madi said the surprise shopping trip was so much fun!

Madi said she didn't want a party but would love to do a trapped room with her other family the Foleys.  So, we signed them up to escape the Great Pyramid room . . .
While we enjoyed a drink and appetizers at King Street Pub next door.
They escaped with a few minutes to spare and the owner said they were a good, respectful group!

Then we cooked out at the Foley's house Madi's favorite meal of steak, shrimp and mac 'n cheese.
Braum's was for dessert for the birthday girl!

Man, we sure love this 13 year old birthday girl!
Briley's little sister Braelynn bought a green romper similar to Madi's and asked if they could be twins at church on Sunday.  Madi said of course!

What a FUN weekend celebrating Madi turning 13 years old!  We need a weekend from our weekend to recuperate!

Lady Pirates vs. Heritage

Shay and I both wore our Game Day volleyball shirts to cheer on the Lady Pirates!

Madi had some great hits but sadly the Lady Pirates lost to Heritage.  They lost the first game 25-21, won the second game 25-11 and then lost the third 25-20.

Not the outcome we wanted, but we are enjoying seeing Madi improve each week!

Madi's 13th Birthday Week!

When you turn 13 in the Heider house you get a Birthday Week!
Sunday after church, we met Grandma and Grandpa Mayberry, Grandma B, Uncle Rod, Uncle Cody, Aunt Shelle, Tripp, Tucker, and Maci at Red Lobster (Madi's choice) to celebrate Madi's birthday!
Sadly, Grandma B. fell at lunch and broke her hip.  Thankfully, she will be okay once she heals.  We tried to make the most of the lunch and celebrate this birthday girl!
We ended up showing Uncle Cody and Aunt Shelle our house so we took the cookie cake there since everyone was so full from lunch!

Next, we took the birthday girl to the mall to let her pick out new Nike shoes she's been wanting!
I would definitely say she's thankful!

Monday, Madi didn't have school so we stole Daddy from work and went to see War with Grandpa at the movies.  It was so cute!  And we filled up on yummy popcorn!
Then Madi and her Daddy had a mani/pedi date!  Madi got dip on her nails and her Daddy enjoyed a gentleman's mani/pedi.

On Tuesday, I took Madi on a quick shopping trip to get a keychain she's been wanting!  Sadly, they didn't have any that she liked but she did find fun Lucky Charm PJ pants!

Tuesday nights, we've been going to eat at Lakeridge Country Club with the Foleys since we have so much credit due to them being closed for quarantine.  Madi loves it because it means a weekly dinner at the Foley's house for her!

Wednesday after school, I surprised Madi by having Elly, Maisen and Briley join us after school to head to Braum's for ice cream!  The best part was missing piano lessons to celebrate!
Thursday morning, I took her to Starbucks for an early morning treat since she doesn't have to go for early practice!  She also bought this Tech sweatshirt with her birthday money.

Friday morning she didn't have early morning practice either so I actually got a morning picture!
On Friday, her Daddy brought her lunch from Villa up to school since her actual birthday is on a Saturday this year.
Friday after school, the birthday celebrations began!
