Belles & Beaux - Rock of Ages!

Last Saturday night was the Rock of Ages Belles & Beaux dance!

Madi got ready at Finnley's house with all her friends!

Then we all met up at Capital Pizza for dinner!

All the boys and girls together!
Finnley's mom decorated the restaurant and brought two cute cookie cakes!
Belles & Beaux has been such a fun experience for the kids and parents!

Private Lessons & Science Fair

Madi has started taking private lessons with Coach Meghan.  She's learning so much.  Elly, the setter for her team, joined her lesson Monday night so they could practice together.
Madi got a 2nd place ribbon on her science fair project.  She was so happy because that means she gets  a good grade but doesn't have to advance to the city fair.

Thursday we started our semester of celebrating Katie Button!  She trained me for my current position and I have just loved working with her.  We are going to celebrate her retirement all semester long!
Saturday night, we met the Norrises and Brent plus his new girl friend Amy for dinner and drinks at Rave On!  Such a fun evening.
I love that we randomly hear this girl playing the piano all the time now.  So thankful she is finally enjoying playing the piano!
The busy spring is finally here!

Doug's 60th Birthday!

Last fall, I was honored when Fanni asked me to help with Doug's surprise 60th birthday party.
He's my boss as Chair of Teacher Education but I also consider him a friend.
He was so surprised when he walked in!
It was wonderful seeing so many familiar faces!

The food was good too!
My part was to read all his kids' personality descriptions based on their birthdays to see if he could guess them correctly.
He got them all right and it was fun for everyone!

Fanni had a full bar, dance floor and photo booth!
It was fun to see Doug with all his brothers, kids and grandkids celebrating him!
Matt and I enjoyed the photo booth too!
Katie was so thoughtful and made a book of Tech Teach memories for him as her gift.  We just got him a nice bottle of whiskey.  ;-)
The pictures were fun to look at but bittersweet too.  Especially when I see Dean Ridley who started this all and now he's no longer with us.
And Madi was there from the beginning!
And boy do I miss this one so much.

Such a fun time to celebrate Doug and all that he has done!

First Weeks of 2022!

We had a New Years Day party with the Devitt, Norris and Lewis families since we all had NYE plans.
It was a fun day of eating and relaxing!
Then the next day we got to watch Tripp coach Tucker's basketball team in a tournament in Lubbock.

Back to school and work we went!  Grandpa Mayberry took us to eat at Hayashi for dinner the first week back which was a fun treat!

Our Sunday School Christmas party was the first Friday in January.  Yes, January since we were all too busy in December to get together.  We still did our annual White Elephant gift exchange and had so many laughs!
This past week was super busy for me at work.  The LISD superintendent, Dr. Rollo, as well as many other district leaders visited with our candidates about paid teaching residencies. Good things are coming to teacher preparation!

Then Amy, Alyson and I flew to DFW for a training. I'm not a person that typically takes pictures of food but these nachos were so amazing that I had to send a pic to Matt.
Great colleagues!
Madi had FCA Friday morning!
Back at it and ready for a fun spring semester!
