We have a Volleyball Player in the House!

This is my view quite often . . . can't believe she's already driving us around the neighborhood!
It felt like a celebration being back on campus and seeing all the Block I Teacher Candidates as we issued them their technology.
Madi had volleyball tryouts super early Monday and Tuesday mornings so we didn't take pictures.  We found out Tuesday evening that she made the team!
First picture as a Lubbock Cooper Pirate Volleyball player headed to her first morning practice!
Wednesday evening we found out that she made the A team!

We all decided that after school pictures may be best this year so we actually see her in normal clothes!
Thursday after school was her first orthodontist appointment since getting braces put on and having her oral surgery.  They attached the chains to her braces so her permanent teeth will come in straight. The doctor couldn't believe how calm and still she was, saying she must be strong!
Making the volleyball team calls for volleyball shoes!
Saturday was also hair cut day for us!
Saturday, Madi spent the day with Riley and Maisen. They went to Main Event to celebrate Riley's birthday then Riley spent the night with us and joined us at church.
Just this morning Matt and I were talking about how many friends Madi has brought to church.  The neat thing is, Madi isn't always the one that asks them.  They ask if they can come with her to church since she's so nice and always talks highly about her church and church family.

Family Weekend

Friday night, we hung out at the Lewis' house eating dinner on the patio watching the girls play volleyball.
Saturday, Aunt Shelle and the cousins came to visit.  We got a fun drink from Happy's and took them to see the progress on our new house.
Sadly, Matt traveled to Nebraska for his Grandpa Paitz's funeral.  The good part was being able to see his family.
All 38 cousins attended the funeral.
Grandma Heider and her brothers and sisters.

7th Grade here we come!

First Day of 7th grade sure looks different with a mask on!
But we are just happy that Madi gets to go back to school!
Day 2 was just as great - Madi had volleyball tryouts so she had to wear her school issued athletics outfit.
Off she goes to day 1 of tryouts . . .
Friday was also tryouts!  Two more days then we'll know if she made the team.
Sure looks like a volleyball player to me!

The last days of summer . . .

Thursday night before school starting was 7th grade orientation!
The next Friday morning was oral surgery day for this girl . . .
She was a champ through the whole thing. I videoed her coming off anesthesia and got quite a few laughs!
Two teeth removed and two exposed with chains so they come in straight!
Madi's been driving us in Matt's truck to and from our new house most nights so we can see what they've done each day.  She's doing a great job. Especially backing out of our driveway into the narrow alley!
Thankfully, Madi felt good enough to go to Levelland on Saturday evening so we could enjoy a night of swimming and pizza with friends!
Sunday after church, Madi got her nails done with the Foley girls!

Madi's sweet friend Rylee brought by a get well basket since she just had surgery.  So thoughtful!  The socks have teeth on them!
Tuesday afternoon we tried to go to the pool but their hours had changed so shopping it was!
We found a couple of fun things for this soon to be 7th grader!

Serving at Lubbock Impact

Madi and I joined Amber and Madeline at Lubbock Impact to serve for NCL.
We cleaned their nurseries and then worked in the clothes closet. We had a little fun picking out a crazy outfit for Madi when we were done.

Thankful for sweet friends that serve together.
