Sunday Funday!

We had the best day leading up to the month of December!
Saturday night Matt went to play poker with his friends which usually means Miss Madi sleeps with me.  Matt puts her back in her bed when he gets home but it sure is fun for her to read and fall asleep with me.
We finished up our present wrapping!
I read somewhere to have all your "must dos" done by December 1st so you can truly enjoy the season.  Well we did it!
Sunday afternoon we ran to pick up the last few gifts and while we were waiting for Matt inside a store Madi and I read books and did math facts.  We're a fun bunch!
Then we went to a park to play and back home for a bike ride and dog walk!
Yes, Fred our elf will make his 2014 debut tomorrow morning!
Madi re-read the story to us so we could all get excited for his arrival!
We went and looked at Christmas lights for the first time too this evening.  It definitely put us in the Christmas spirit!

Thanksgiving Week!

Monday morning - we were ready for a short week!
I met late with Doug and Stephanie so Matt took Madi to swim.  He sent me this video of her jumping off the high dive.
She just had to wear her new head wrap since it was cool Tuesday morning.

Aunt Shelle picked Madi up from school at noon since it was a half day.  We all met at Chickfila for lunch.  Even Uncle Rod came to town and ate lunch with us!
The play place was closed so they were sad.
But we still managed to have a good lunch!
We took a silly picture to stay entertained.   Tuck came home with us for the afternoon!  It was just like old times for those two.
Wednesday morning Aunt Shelle came and picked us up so we could head to Grandma and Grandpa's house.  Matt had to work until 3 and then he headed down.
We started the games without him.  First up was Uno!
Then it was a tense game of Headbanzz!
Aunt Shelle will hate this picture but you just can't help laugh at how we look playing this game!
I printed off new cards that were Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas themed.
I think we played each game at least 5 times!
Cadoo was fun too!  We had to act out, sculpt and draw clues.
 Another round of Headbanzz!
We even got Matt to play Headbanzz with us!  The kids loved it!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with all my family too!  But the games were definitely the highlight!

We sent Owen a Happy 7th Birthday picture to let him know we were thinking of him!
We arrived back home Friday afternoon in time to surprise Madi with a trip to see Big Hero 6 at the movie theater.

So so thankful for my family!

May the force . . .

We love our weekends so much and Friday afternoons have always been special to us.
I love when Matt says let's go to Roadhouse for dinner!
Here he is performing a magic trick for his favorite fan!
Our new Bowflex work out machine was delivered so Matt and his (matching outfits!) sidekick put it together Friday night.
We bought Darth Vader a few weeks back so we decided to put him out last Saturday.
That morning we drove to Gardenridge and surprised Madi by buying his friend Yoda too!
Every single car drove slowly by so they could see Darth Vader and Yoda!
While Matt watched the Tech game, Madi and I went to Clay Cafe to paint.

Then that night when it was dark enough we went back outside so their light sabers would show up better!
  Here's a close up . . .
Our church held their Thanksgiving dinner and auction the Sunday evening before Thanksgiving.
We had so much fun!
We bid at the silent auction on this cute head wrap for Madi that she just had to have.
We kept checking the bids every once and while . . .
And when the time was called Madison Heider had the winning bid!

Early Christmas Gifts!

Monday was a late start so we were all nice and rested!
I love many things about my husband but random thoughtful gifts are the best.  I guess I had mentioned how much I love Bird of Paradise candles one day and two showed up Monday afternoon.
Chicke needed some Madi cuddles I guess!
Tripp was awarded Student of the Month for his school and his picture was in the newspaper on Sunday.  We are so so proud of him!
Tuesday - I promise her pull-over wasn't too small even though this picture suggests otherwise!
 Wednesday

Thursday morning Madi had the giggles for some reason so I just had to take a picture of that sweet smile!
Grandma and Grandpa Heider are the coolest!  They send surprise packages in the mail from time to time.  Madi is our resident mail checker and sorter lately so she loves when things are in "her" pile.  The Goddard Rockets (where Grandpa works and Daddy graduated) stocking hat is perfect and we can't wait to countdown to Christmas using the advent calendar.
All ready for school Thursday morning!

Thursday after school Madi thought she needed a treat so we got her a McFlurry on the way home.  She hasn't had one before but thought it was pretty good.
I took a picture inside Friday morning since Matt was taking Madi and Ady to school for me.  I had to go to Honey Elementary all day to join their instructional rounds to get ideas for our site review this spring.  It turned out a little blurry and dark.
So I ran her outside real quick before I left for the day.
We are so excited for the weekend in our house.  Lots of Christmas present buying/wrapping is going to take place!

First Snow!

Sunday after church we went to lunch with the Foleys at Market St. and picked up a few things for our fun snow day at home!
The snow started coming down as we headed home from lunch so we started a fire and worked on a Christmas puzzle.
Tucker's birthday was this coming week and Shelle needed pictures from when he was a baby to share with his class so I had fun going through old pictures and sending them to her.
I love all my nieces and nephews but have so many pictures of Tucker since he spent the most time with us when I stayed home with Madison.
We all bundled up later in the evening when the snow stopped and played outside.
The snow wouldn't pack enough to make a snowman but we had fun throwing it and writing in it!
Then we found out around dinner time that we were all on a two hour delay the next morning.
We stayed up late watching tv and got to sleep in a little Monday morning!
