Quick Getaway!

Friday morning was our College of Education Induction Ceremony.
We took a selfie after cording all of our graduates!
We decided very last minute to do a quick weekend getaway before his crazy month of June starts!
We loaded up and got in the car Friday evening.
 We drove straight to Ruidoso!
We stayed at The Lodge and it was gorgeous and relaxing. We went straight to the pool when we got there and enjoyed the hot tub too!
After breakfast, Madi warmed up by the fireplace and then we were off!
Matt has talked about hiking at Bonita Lake many times so we decided to make that our first stop.
Madi suggested we use walking sticks.
She found the perfect walking stick for each of us.
It was so peaceful all around.
Every stream we came to, we had to throw rocks in it.
  And sticks!

At first, Madi wasn't too sure about her surroundings but once she got comfortable she decided she wanted to live there!
It was just what we needed.  No plans, just walking around and enjoying.
I can see why it's called Bonita Lake.
Impressing us with his rock skipping abilities . . .

We had to MAKE her leave.
In town, we went to lunch and then to a fun place with bumper cars.
I was brave and took pictures in the dark as we were circling around.

 Then we played miniature golf.

Madi and I raced go-carts against her Daddy.

We lapped EVERY person there twice except Matt.  We only lapped him once.
Then we warmed up at the pool and hot tub again in the afternoon before playing golf at the golf course at our hotel.
 Madi was in heaven!
I'm not sure how much golf she actually wanted to play but those hills were calling her name!
I rode along in the cart and enjoyed watching my two favorites play golf together.
Then we went to dinner and the pool again!
All dressed and ready to head home early in the morning.
Grabbed Madi lunch on the way home.  These silly glasses were in her meal.

We love the age that Madi is at right now.  She's the best traveler and loves to experience new and different things!  Now we're ready for June!
