A BIG Week!

Last Saturday morning we found ourselves at the Farmer's Market downtown to buy some more of the delicious sausage from Kress, Texas.
Obligatory Buddy Holly Glasses picture had to happen . . .
Then Madi and I walked to Bahama Bucks to buy her a snow cone while Matt got a new battery for his truck.
Madi wanted to teach us what she learned about sewing from Ms.  Hanna when and I quote "y'all don't have a lot to do so you can listen and learn."
She seems very interested in sewing and loves going to Ms. Hanna's for lessons.
 Showing us her bobbin . . .
Not sure why she was showing us on the floor???

Matt finally talked me into having a Mojito with him while we grilled dinner out back.  :)
I got home Monday to a surprise from Matt.  I randomly say I love things like these candles at my friend Stephanie's house and then they appear at our house!  I've already burned them and love the way our house smells!
Madi spent Monday with Aunt Shelle and Grandma Mayberry.  They had lunch at 50th street and this was one of her prizes!
Matt had a couple of appointments on Tuesday so he took the day off and had a Daddy/Madi day watching movies!
I spent Tuesday holding orientation for 200 plus teacher candidates about to start their student teaching.
 Wednesday
Thursday morning I left at 6am to present in Snyder so this was my view along the way.
Matt took Madi to Aunt Shelle's house for the day.
I was back in town from Snyder by 1pm to check on Grandma Mayberry since she had shoulder surgery and then to take Madi to her sewing lesson with Ms. Hanna.
Then Thursday night we had dinner at Roadhouse to celebrate a BIG week in the Heider house!
Matt got an offer (actually two!) from the accounting firm he's been wanting and accepted it!
We are excited for his new adventure beginning in December!
 Friday
Man, these memories make me realize how quickly time is passing by!
Madi made tails out of different ribbons so she could be a dog and cat.
I got the honor of petting Snowball and Snowflake all afternoon.
She even has a water dish and food bowl.  :)
Saturday we spent the afternoon at the pool with the Daniels and Foleys.
Then we cleaned up and headed to the Foley's house for a cook-out, game night and hot tub time!
These girls have the neatest friendship and love spending time together!

Sew Fun!

I've always wanted Madison to learn how to sew.  Especially with my Aunt Bev and Grandma Heider being great seamstresses.
Her interest piqued this summer so out came Aunt Bevie's sewing machine.
It sure was bittersweet seeing the thread Aunt Bevie put on her machine last.  I wonder what her last project was going to be.
We looked around and made some calls and soon found out that Ms. Hanna is the lady for sewing lessons. She's full for the school year but had a few weekly lessons available in August.
 We jumped at the chance!
Madi was proud of the two seams she was able to make!
Ms. Hanna said Madi makes extremely straight lines for her age and handles the foot pedal very well.  She usually asks that kids her age have a limit on their pedal but said Madi doesn't need one.
We are already looking forward to her next lesson!

Back at it!

Matt and Madi checking out the pecans in the tree!
Having a tall Dad helps get a closer look!
Grandpa Mayberry texted us this picture of Ruff, Sissy and a new kitten asleep in his office.
So we texted back this picture of our pitiful pups!
Then we got this one Sunday morning saying "Ruff says "there goes the neighborhood!"
Monday morning it was off to Aunt Shelle's camp!
Got my hotel information for my trip later this month.  By the looks of this hotel I'm definitely going to enjoy my training!
 Tuesday
Wednesday - all ready for the last movie day of the summer!
After the movie, they decided on an afternoon at Chuck E. Cheese instead of the pool.
By the looks of these smiles, I'd say they had fun!
 Thursday
After I dropped Madi off at Shelle's house I looked down at my odometer and the math person in me had to take a picture 123,456 miles!
 Friday
At Aunt Shelle camp on Friday, they ate lunch at Chick-fila, ran errands and ended the afternoon at Science Spectrum!
Madi was happy to go with Maci since she can go in the "Under 5" area again.
The water works area is Madi's favorite and Maci's too by the looks of it!
It was a great week getting back into the swing of things!

Following in Grandpa's Footsteps!

Grandpa and Grandma Heider brought over a bunch of plants a few months back.
It's Madison's job to water them daily although we do remind her occasionally.  :)

This year the plants are producing like crazy!
It may be because Grandpa Heider started most of the plants before bringing them over but I think it's also because this little girl is following in his footsteps where plants are concerned!

Farmer's Market & Painting!

Shay and Maisen picked us up early Saturday morning to head to the farmer's market downtown.
We bought fresh fruits and vegetables and some sausage for dinner!
Then the girls wanted to take pictures on Buddy Holly's glasses!

After playing at Maisen's house for a few hours, it was time for Madi's painting class.
Our schedules are too full to take weekly art classes but Shay and I check their website regularly to enroll the girls in fun canvas classes on Saturdays.
 Madison LOVES these classes.
It's neat to see her interested in trying different things!
