Spring Break 2015 - Day 4 & 5

Thursday we spent the day at Aunt Shelle's house playing with the cousins.  I helped her clean and organize her laundry room.  It took us 4 hours but now she loves doing laundry!  I also met my friend Teresa for our weekly bible study for lunch at La Madeline's.  We usually meet at 6am but opted for lunch since I was off.

Once home we took all 3 pups on a walk.  It was a mess of tangled leashes at first . . .
But once we got going it was smooth sailing!
We took Matt to the new frozen-yogurt place Menchie's for dessert after dinner.  Madi got the same flavor as before but didn't like it for some reason.  I don't like frozen-yogurt typically so I didn't have any.  Matt didn't like his either.  So it wasn't a successful dessert night for the Heider family.

Friday I went to my hair appointment and then we took Madi to see Cinderella in the new Alamo Draft House theater.
It has assigned seats that you pick when buying your tickets and tables for every two seats.
They serve a full menu so we had popcorn, wings and pizza.
The movie and food were both great so I definitely see us going there again soon!

Spring Break 2015 - Day 3

We had originally planned to spend Wednesday of Spring Break in Abilene going to the zoo and children's museum but the rain there changed our plans.
Shay and I came up with a pretty fun alternative.
We spent the morning at the Science Spectrum and went through the traveling Pirate Exhibition.
The girls had a lot of fun.
They created and put on a puppet show for us.
And did a lot of arts and crafts.
We ate lunch at one of our favorite places Raisin' Canes.
Then we all went for pedicures!
I was trying to get a cute picture of the girls' nails and toes but they were being silly!

They chose red and black chevron, aka Tech toes, for their feet.
And pink with turquoise polka dots for their fingers.
Then we ended our fun day with Menchie's (a new fro-yo place in town).
One of the blogs I read had a story about the paint company Valspar teaming up to provide glasses for colorblind people so they can see color for the first time.  Shelle and I watched the video and were in tears.  Hopefully we can buy some of these glasses for Tripp and our dad soon.
Aunt Shelle and Uncle Cody called after our already fun-filled day and said to meet them at Main Event for a family-date, their treat!
How could we say no to that offer?
Maci gives the best hugs and has become my little buddy.
 Sisters tryin' to take a selfie . . .

We bowled two games and ate a yummy dinner.
Tucker and I were neck and neck and he was cracking me up saying "game on Sherre, game on!"
 Morgan & Tripp
Thanks Aunt Shelle and Uncle Cody!
It was such a fun day and evening!

Spring Break 2015 - Day 2

One of our errands on Monday was to the new library in town.
We picked up a bunch of books and Madi has enjoyed reading them in her book nook.
She read this book to me on the way to lunch with Daddy and said the umbrellas were to keep it from getting wet.  We had a little rain!
After taking Daddy to lunch at Torchy's we spent some time walking through Toys 'R Us.
I got a lot of Birthday and Christmas ideas.
Then we picked up our friend Lauren and head to art class.
They painted the cutest leprechaun owl!

Tuesday night we grilled tenderloin for dinner then had family movie night.
"Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" was a cute movie.
Madi saw that March 12th was National Popcorn day and we forgot to celebrate it.
So we had a re-do Tuesday night.
Matt and Madi are getting the gardening itch so I suggested some mosquito-repelling plants for our patio.

Spring Break 2015 - Day 1

Sunday night we went to Aunt Shelle and Uncle Cody's house for dinner.
These two have become the best of friends.  Always running to each other to hug!
Monday we went up to Tech to have lunch with Daddy.
They have cool sculptures all around so we had to test out the giant sphere.
Madi loved reading each of the plaques on the sculptures.
The book man was her favorite!
We had Chick-fila in the SUB then Madi and I went by my office so I could grab something.
Per her request we went up the stairs to the top floor so we could look down.
Then we did some shopping and ended the afternoon with a walk.
GV is getting much better on her leash.
We used to have to ask Madi to practice her piano from time to time.
We just love that now we hear her playing at random times throughout the day.
We found some fun ideas to look at in the sky and on the internet.
Day 1 was a success!

Puppies, Painting & More!

I still can't believe our girl is old enough and actually wants to play Clash of Clans with her Daddy.
The addition of G.V. has been perfect for our family.
They all curl up together every chance they get.
Madi went to Jessica's birthday at Painting with a Twist.  They usually just host adults but now they have kid parties too.
Getting instructions on her clan that she named Kiwi-land.

Beautiful weather means dinner and relaxing out on the back porch.
I saw this shirt and sent a pic to Matt telling him we need to buy it for him real soon!
All ready for school the Monday morning before Spring Break!
Tuesday

 Wednesday
No picture Thursday - our friends were here before we realized the time!  Guess the time change got to us.

Thursday night was our church's monthly women's event.
They had a devotional, amazing food and prizes and a fashion show to see how to sweeten up our wardrobe for spring.
I was so glad my sis and friend Anita came along too!
Matt received his letter of acceptance into the MSA program.  We are so proud of him.  It's hard to believe that this time next year he'll be sitting for the CPA test.
We are outside every chance we get with this beautiful weather!
It's times like these when I'm especially thankful for being able to pick Madi up from school and having lazy afternoons before dinner and activities.
While I was at the church event Madi and Daddy had a Freddy's dinner date after piano.
I love these two so much!
I sent this to Shelle saying we need to make one for her garage or laundry room.
She responded that by the time she got around to making it all her kids would be grown and gone!
 Dog pile!
They look so cozy and relaxed.
We decided to wear our Good Luck Charm shirt on Friday since St. Patrick's day falls during our break.

Here's a random day of texting betweem Madison and me.
I'm going to start using these ideas when I say good-bye to Madi each morning.
Madi drew Elsa, Olaf and Ana in anticipation of our Dallas trip to see Frozen on Ice next week.
I think she's more excited about the plane ride than anything else.
I couldn't say it better.  So thankful for this week of time with her.
We have fun plans with friends for the week ahead.
We started our break out right . . . roller blading!
And dinner and cookie decorating with the cousins!
Bring on Spring Break!
