Heart Painting

Since Madi and I aren't big football fans we did a little heart painting I saw on Pinterest during the Super Bowl.
You just push in part of an empty toilet paper roll until it makes a heart shape then dip in paint.
I lost count on how many paintings we made after about 20.  :)
Monday picture inside since our neighbor's yard is still being worked on.
No picture Tuesday because I went out to a school early and Daddy took Madi to school.
Wednesday - out back :)
 Thursday
Such cute smiles so I had to put two pictures on here.
This morning we were out and about before the workers arrived.
Just a picture to remember Sue and Noodle out front as we left for school this morning.  We were shocked so I put them inside real quick and went looking for Chicke.  Luckily, she was out back still.  Good dog! It took me walking the perimeter of our yard THREE times to find the opening.  I guess the workers next door broke the bottom part of  a picket that allowed our dogs to walk right through.  I put a white bucket it front of it until Matt brings home a picket this afternoon to fix it.
I would've thought scared-y cat Sue would have stayed in the backyard not Chicke.  :)  We're just glad that they're all safe!

All better!

We kept Madison home from school on Monday just to be safe.  She felt much better but we didn't want to take a chance.  She always has dry skin in the winter but especially with her rash so it's a constant request to "scratch her back!"
Monday evening we watched Morgan play basketball against Matt's school.
Maci thought she was hot stuff!
These two had fun going up and down the stairs and eating candy!
 Tuesday - Back to school!
Wednesday was a busy day for us so Madi spent the evening with her cousins.  She didn't like missing Cubbies though!
Thursday was Red & Black day at school because the Tech soccer players came to visit!  She said they did cool tricks unlike the Tech football players and cheerleaders that visited a while back.  :)
Our neighbor is having her yard landscaped so Madi wants to take her daily picture away from all the chaos.  It's going to look amazing based on the bobcat and tools sitting out front!
When Madi saw the shirt I set out for her she said "Why am I wearing a Valentine's shirt?  Is it Valentine's today?"  Before I could answer she read the shirt "love to shhh...."  She couldn't finish the word shop but did great otherwise!
I guess it is time to get out her Valentine shirts!

Short Week

Monday was a Holiday for Madi and me so we stayed around the house for most of the day and met Shelle and kiddos at Chick-fil-a for lunch.

Tuesday was back to our regular routine.
Madi is still liking to make and take her lunch on Tuesdays.
 Wednesday
She's been showing lots of energy in the mornings still.  :)
Thursday - looking so grown up!
Thursday afternoon we used her Jolly Rancher nail polish that she got for Christmas (Thanks Grandma & Grandpa Heider!) to do a little mani and pedi.
She didn't like how the toe separators felts on her feet.
 Finished product!
I can tell that she gets ideas from her friends at school now since she suggested alternating nail colors.  :)   My OCD could never suggest such an idea!!
Friday was a no picture day since we took Madi to Aunt Shelle's house bright and early so we could go to my surgery.  It was a success!

Saturday night Madison started acting like she didn't feel well.  So we put her to bed around 6:45pm and she slept until 6am.  We were hoping that she would be all better.
Sadly, we found ourselves at the doctor's office Sunday afternoon.

You could tell she wasn't happy about not seeing her regular Dr. Rogers but thankfully all the other doctors in her practice have a Kid's Clinic on the weekends so we were able to see a friend of her's Dr. Hart.  Madi warmed right up to her and did great!
I spent part of the afternoon coloring with Madi on her "house" and so glad to see her feeling MUCH better already.  The doctor said she could go to school on Monday but I think we'll stay home and rest just to be safe!

New Adventures!

Saturday night we tried out a new restaurant in town called Abuelo's Taqueria.
It was a hit!
Sunday after church and lunch we told Madi we had a surprise afternoon planned for her and Tucker.
At this point they still weren't sure what the surprise was, but they had fun looking at the water at the Tech museum and planetarium.
Once inside, Tucker was super excited and Madison was a little unsure.  I liked laying back and watching a movie on the ceiling, but she thought it was a little odd.  Tucker kept saying "wow!" or "Is that a zombie?"  He made it entertaining for sure.

Afterwards, we headed to Spoonfuls for some yummy! yogurt.
It was such a fun Sunday afternoon!

What a week!

Monday was a super cold and windy day.  But we still found ourselves outside taking a picture.
Staying late on Tuesdays and Thursdays is still a hit and something Madi looks forward to weekly.
Madi drew this picture of her and Tuck to give to Tucker.  I've heard through the grapevine that a certain someone (ahem! Maci) tore his picture.  So a second one has already been developed.
Matt was impressed by the detailed flower.  I was shocked that their clothes had designs!
Wednesday - Madi was a little spunky and wanted me to take many, many pictures.
Hopefully, modeling is NOT in her future! :)
Wednesday was my first day of classes.  I also have a 5 week night class I teach (pray I can stay awake!).  So Daddy took Madi to their favorite (not my favorite!) place to eat.  Super Salad!
I got this picture in a text along with "my date even puts my straw in my glass for me!"

Thursday
I love that our mornings are lazy and peaceful.
I know once Madi starts "big" school they will be less so, therefore, we are going to enjoy the calm while we can!
She was bouncing around again . . .
So I caught this one a little off center!
 Friday
I wish I was in her good mood each morning.
I guess she knows it's Friday and the long weekend is here!

Building

This was our view for most of last weekend.
Matt was such a trooper building, un-building, and building again!
I think they built each fort imaginable!
The puppies like to join her in her forts once she covers it with a sheet and adds blankets and pillows inside.

Back to school . . .

Madi started back to school this past Tuesday.
We made a little change in our routine though.
Starting this month, Madi's going to start doing "extended stay" at school on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 2:45.
The exciting part (for Madi) is bringing her lunch and eating with her friends.
Here she is with her lunchbox all ready!
Wednesday - I couldn't choose a picture.  Both too cute.
Wednesday night was Meatballs & Rice night in our house.  A favorite!
Anytime this is on the menu, you can find Madi parked right by her Daddy rolling the meatballs!
Thursday was a cold and rainy day so we were prepared with our boots and vest!
Madi wanted to wear "dangly" earrings today.  They make her look so grown up.
Friday - again two very cute pictures so I included them both.
We are heading to the Foley's house tonight for dinner and games and then a nice and quiet weekend at home.
