Back to School Fiesta - Belles & Beaux!

Saturday was the first Belles & Beaux dance of 8th grade!

We went and got her toes and fingers painted white for the event!

Then she went to Maisen's house to get ready with Claire, Ava, McKenzy & Maisen!

We met the other girls from Laura Bush plus the boys at Torchy's for dinner. 

Then we went to a few places downtown to take pictures before the dance started.

8th Grade A Team!

The cousins visited us last weekend and sadly Maci broke her arm right after leaving our house again!  

Six months and one day from the last time she broke her arm after leaving our house! 

Thankful she's still all smiles all the time! 

The Foley and Wharff families came over Saturday night to plan our upcoming trip to Vegas. 

A last minute practice with Briley and friends Sunday afternoon since tryouts end Tuesday afternoon.

We found out Tuesday that Madi made the volleyball team at school! 

Grandma Mayberry delivered this cute sign to say congratulations! 

Wednesday she found out that she made the A team during practice and Thursday evening was her first scrimmage with the other middle school in LCISD.  

Madi and her team mates cheered on the B team before their game started. 

It was fun being back in the gym watching volleyball! 

Friday, I had a visit from this guy before he headed to work with Matt. 

I sure did make him a big breakfast burrito before he headed out!

First Day of 8th Grade!

Wednesday, August 18th - It was time to go back to school! 

8th grade here we come!

I'm going to miss having this girl around all day but I'm thankful she gets to go to school!

We had a social for my work on Wednesday afternoon to welcome everyone back! 

This is how we felt about the second day of school . . . 

Second day means volleyball tryouts start! 

Thankfully, we're still all smiles! 

I think it's safe to say Tripp is loving his job with Uncle Matt!

Thankful for another good start to the school year! 

 

The Last Days of Summer!

We met the Foleys, Ellises, Gibbs and Buxkempers for a night out before school starts back. 

We went to Rave On and enjoyed it! 

Very thankful for these great friends. 

With school coming up, I found this sweet mother/daughter matching necklace set that I got for Madi. 

It has two interlocking circles (one bigger than the other).  It's simple but pretty! 

We volunteered at a few places together to get some of our NCL hours in before school starts.  Here we are working in the Restore for Habitat for Humanity. 

While we were volunteering, Matt went to a Tech football practice with a bunch of alumni.  He had a great time!

Sunday after church, we had our first in-person NCL meeting! 

We are so happy that Haley and her mom (below) are also in NCL! 

Sunday night, we had the Foleys, Laytons, and new friends, the Teppers, over for a cook out and swim party!

Monday morning, I went with Tripp and Shelle to walk his schedule at South Plains, buy his textbooks, and get a parking pass.  He humored me and picked a seat in each classroom so I could take a pic!

Madi's hair appointment for a balayage was also on Monday.  

She was so excited and happy with the outcome!

Tripp's first day working with Matt and his firm was that afternoon.  Here he is working away at his desk!
