Staying with the Cousins!

Last weekend, Madi stayed in Abilene with the cousins to watch Tripp's game on Saturday.
They won so it's on to state!

After the game, they ate dinner at a Mexican food restaurant . . .
Then headed home to Jayton where they welcomed the team home!  I think it's safe to say that Madi loves her small town family.  :)
The next day I headed to pick her up.
I had to check Madi's bag to make sure she didn't sneak one of the cousins' bunnies in there!

Cheering on Tripp #0!

We got Madi out of school a little early on Friday and headed to Abilene to watch Tripp and his Jayton Jaybirds team play in the regional semi-finals.
Tripp's #1 fans!
Love watching him and his team play!
 It was an awesome game!
Go Jayton!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Madi and I continued our girls night last Friday night complete with a Gilmore Girls marathon, Rosa's for dinner, a coffee date and picking up Matt at 11:30pm. Madi was impressed I was actually able to stay up that late.  The coffee definitely helped.
Saturday was spent outside playing volleyball with Madi.  She's taking an interest in volleyball so we're excited to see where it goes.
Sunday after church, we met my family at Rosa's for lunch and my mom brought a fun brownie cake to celebrate my upcoming 41st birthday!
The kids table at lunch - Kiran, Elora, Maci, Tucker and Madi!
Since it was my birthday weekend, I asked for a game of Clue Sunday afternoon!
Madi also conducted IQ tests on our dogs while we were playing.  We have pretty smart pups according to the tests she performed.
Madi won even though it was my birthday!
Beautiful weather means being outside a lot lately playing basketball . . .

 Monday
 Tuesday

 Wednesday
I met Grandma and Madi at Taco Villa after school before heading to piano.  Since I was running a little late I told Madi to use her new debit card to order her snack at Villa.  Can't believe she's old enough to order and pay for her own food now!
 Thursday
Friday - Madi had a student council conference on Friday.
We celebrate birthday at our bi-monthly meetings at work.  Amy was so sweet and had a local bakery make bread pudding for me to celebrate my birthday.
To say I was so excited is an understatement.  It was so thoughtful of her and SO yummy!
I had a great week with many birthday celebrations!

Debit Card

Saturday, we took Madi to get her own checking and debit card account.  Matt's excited for her to learn budgeting.  :)
We had to go to the ATM to activate it!
Pictures of the cousins at their town's Valentine's Dance.
 Love these stinkers!

 Monday
Tripp was named Student of the Month!
 Tuesday
Tuesday night was My Favorite Things party with my the ladies in my Sunday school class. No pictures except of these amazing fruit pizza cookies.  They are SO good!
 Wednesday
 Thursday
Amy and I went to Muleshoe to visit a site coordinator and observe a teacher candidate.  We forgot to take a picture so Amy used her photoshop skills . . .
It was just me and Madi Thursday night so she braided my hair. I was super impressed!  And she did it quickly!
Friday morning, it was just us girls again so we went to breakfast before school.  Fun memories!
We are ready for the weekend in our house!

Presenting my Proposal!

On Thursday, I hit a huge milestone for my dissertation work.
I presented my dissertation proposal to my committee members. I received a lot of great feedback so now I just need to complete the study, defend my dissertation and graduate!
My sweet work friends celebrated with me when it was over.
The dissertation process is intense but I am learning so much.

Another Short Week!

Madi has had a day off at least every other week since we started back to school in January.  We are definitely NOT complaining.
Tuesday
Love watching her swim hard and her beautiful dives!
Wednesday morning she had an early meeting for National Junior Honor Society.
Thursday she was out the door early with her Daddy for FCA.
Friday she went to school early for a HEB camp meeting.
Madi is loving middle school.  She is involved in so many wonderful activities that provide her so many great opportunities!
