Swim Meet!

 Tuesday morning!
Cooper had a snow day on Monday so Madi enjoyed a day at Aunt Shelle's house!
While we were helping Uncle Rod at his house Madi saw this old Snoopy phone that we've had forever.  Uncle Rod got it from our parents and has kept it ever since.  Madi fell in love with it and asked if she could have it.
I was quite shocked that Uncle Rod said yes so easily!
She's enjoyed playing with it ever since!  Plus she'll at least know what type of phones we used to have back in the day!
Grandma Mayberry came to town Tuesday afternoon and has a present for Madison.
She wasn't sure what it was at first.
Once she unfolded it she realized it was a towel for swimmers.
It reminds me of a shami? that we use to dry off our cars.

It was perfect timing because a few minutes later we headed to Madi's second swim meet!
Madi's by the third block from the right.

She was almost the last to dive in.  We'll have to work on not waiting on everyone else to dive in!
She dove in and began swimming right away!
She improved her time by over 5 seconds and did a great job!
She was in the first race only so we headed out and went to dinner at Chili's.
Grandma & Madi outside her swim meet.
Wednesday we signed up for the pool this summer then headed to Tripp's house for a family birthday party!
He's also graduating from Elementary school and headed to Middle School.  CRAZY!
He opened our gift and loved it!  We gave him a skching and shading with charcoal art set.
 Thursday

Madi was so excited to wear her new flip flops to school.  This is the first time she's worn "real" flip flops to school.  I was sad that she can't wear the ones with the back on them anymore.
Friday was rainy and Madi wanted to catch a raindrop in her mouth.
Not such a good idea to catch a drop off the roof though!
 All ready for school.
The breezeway outside our building was especially beautiful with the rain and blossoms all over the ground.
Stephanie and I only worked in the morning so I met this cutie for lunch at Torchy's Tacos.  I had an avocado and mushroom taco.  They were amazing!  We sat outside and watched the rain.
One of our site coordinators Dr. Torres went to Dallas for the day so we offered to keep her puppy Sophie.  She has a cute heart shaped marking that I had to send to my mom!
Sophie was scared of Chicke's barking but settled down eventually.
Madi had fun with another dog around!
Madi and Daddy also planted their strawberry plants in the hanger.
We're hoping to have quite a turnout this year!
 Fingers crossed!
Saturday we went on a long walk while it was sprinkling.  We saw the ducks along the way.
We also kept seeing these beautiful blooms all over our neighborhood.  Tomorrow afternoon will be spent trying to find some of these plants for our house!
Madi has been learning all about the parts and functions of a flower at school.

She came home with this great picture of a flower but since the lovely dirt and roots is quite messy I decided to take a picture and get rid of the evidence! :)

Costume Sneak Peek!

Madison's dance recital is coming up the first Friday in June so I like to "practice" trying everything on a few weeks prior.
Her song is called "Baby Face!"
 This is her end pose.

We have to tape her tap shoes white but otherwise we are all set!
We are excited to see this cute little "Baby Face" up on stage!

Glasses

Matt has been wearing his glasses to work instead of contacts so he thought we both needed a new pair!
Thankfully, he did NOT get these frames.  :)
No glasses for Miss Madi but that didn't stop her from trying many, many pairs on.

While Daddy finalized all the paperwork, Madi and I kept trying on glasses.
I didn't get these either!  We'll post a picture soon of our new looks!

Mother's Day with Grandma Mayberry!

 Monday was a little windy!
After dance, we took Grandma Mayberry to Ruby Tequila's for a belated Mother's Day celebration.
Grandma stayed with us because I had to fly out at 6:30am Tuesday Morning so she helped get Madison to and from school.
Matt sent me this picture when I landed in Dallas.
We get random "gifts" from Grandma from time to time.  This time we received dental spray because our dogs' breath is awful she said.
Wednesday

I forgot we had purchased a year book a few months back so it was quite a surprise to receive it in Madi's folder.  She's right in the middle of the heart on the cover.
And here she is with her entire class and teacher Mrs. Olivarez.
  Thursday
  Friday
Friday evening we went and cheered on the Challenger team from our church and then went to watch Maisen's last softball game of the season!
Madi watching Maisen up to bat!  Mrs. Olivarez came to watch too so Madi loved getting to see her teacher as well.
 Maisen did a great job!
We all went to dinner and ran into at least 4 more friends from their school and stayed until 9pm.
It reminded me of the fun summer nights as a kid that I never wanted to end.
We were able to sit outside because of the beautiful weather so the kids played for hours while we talked and talked.
