First Day/Last Day Comparison

A lot has changed since Madison's first day of school on Thursday, September 6th. 

We lost some precious family members and we moved to a new house. 

But most of all, Madison has grown into a mature and sweet little girl.

Madison's End of the Year Party!

 Saturday afternoon Madi and I went to watch our friend Lexie's dance recital. 

 Madi kept asking me "Momma, how do they know what to do?"

I guess she isn't making the connection that when she's up on stage she knows her dance too!

 Monday morning we met Madison's class at Main Event for their end of the year party.

 Everyone bowled a game.

 Then played glow golf.

 Madi said this was her favorite part.

 Which made her Daddy very happy when I texted him.

 Then they had a little bit of time before their pizza lunch was ready to spend their $10 game card.

 We were all pretty tired after the party but it was a fun way to end the year. 

So much personality in this little body!

She made a mustache out of an empty wrapping paper roll and has been wearing it for days!

Before Madison's recital this coming Saturday!

Lakeridge UMC Kindergarten Graduation

 Friday morning before heading to school for Kindergarten Graduation.

 Before the graduation ceremony, all the Kindergarteners put on their Spring Program.

 They sang many, many songs.

 And each student had a speaking part.  Madison was the first one to speak as she recited Matthew 6:8-9 and then she started the Lord's Prayer.

 Madi was the "U" in Jesus for one song.

 She really got into the singing and dancing parts.

 Her facial expressions were cracking us all up!

 While they went and changed into their cap and gowns we watched a sweet slideshow of pictures of each kid from a baby to Kindergartener Graduate. 

 Each name was called as they received their "diploma" and then Mrs. Cude asked them to tell their favorite memory of Kindergarten.  Madison said "Mother's Day Tea."  She's talked about it alot but I was still surprised.  :)

 Then they moved their tassels.

 And took a few group pictures.

 Before the reception we took a few family pictures too.

 I think she's pretty happy here.  

Later that day, Aunt Shelle said that Tucker told her "Madi looked cited in her uniform."  :)

Last Full Week of School

 This is the last full week of Madi's school. 

Monday morning she wanted to show me the progress of her bean experiment. Now it's double that size!

 Wednesday morning Mrs. Cude asked if I could sub for her from 10:30 to noon so she could attend her daughter's end of school party.  I'm so thankful for a job that allows me to do this type of volunteering on a whim.

 It was so fun to watch Madison in her class doing her everyday activities like calendar, snack, centers, etc.  I think she liked having me there because she gave me MANY hugs!

 Today I was working on the thank you note for our teachers with their class gift.  We all chipped in and got them Spa money.  Can't beat that!

 Thursday morning, Madison was so happy to be able to wear a skirt without leggings underneath it.  Ah, the simple things in life!

 Tomorrow is Graduation Day so I figured there would be many pictures from all the celebrating so I decided to break this week into two posts.

The Perfect Mother's Day!

 Matt planned the perfect Mother's Day for me this year!

We were going to miss church since we wanted to see one of Tripp's last soccer games with his Select Tech team so Matt decided we should go on a road trip. 

We grabbed Tucker after the game and they had a little picnic in the car as we drove to Amarillo.

 Going to a zoo has been on my "list of things I want to do" for a while now. So it was the perfect way to spend Mother's Day in my opinion.

We saw the tortoise first. 

 He moved pretty fast too.  It was fun watching him eat and get a drink of water.

 We saw smaller turtles too.

They did roar for us twice though.

 The spider monkeys were fun to watch.  

They walked all around and swung from a rope a few times.

 Madison's favorite animal she was looking forward to seeing the most was the peacock.

When it made a sound Madi told us that's the way peacocks scare off their predators. :)

 

 They had to play at the park a little before we left the zoo.

 Then we headed to my favorite restaurant of all times Jorge's.

My favorite is actually in Midland but they have them in Odessa and Amarillo too.  

Not Lubbock though. :( 

 The waiters passed out flowers to all the moms at the restaurant.

Tuck and Madi loved the fountain outside. 

 We grabbed frozen yogurt at Matt's favorite place Braum's. 

 The kids thought we were done and headed home so they were surprised when we pulled into Putt-Putt.

 This was by far Tucker's favorite part!  Madi showed off her great golfing skills too!

Lubbock only has indoor miniature golf now so we were glad we happened to see this place as we were leaving.  

This was by far the best Mother's Day!
