Wet Sand

After Madi's Sunday afternoon nap she and her Daddy made wet sand.
It's the only way to make great sandcastles.
So out these two went and got the hose ready.
Personally, I think Madi just likes the mess water and sand make, but that's just me!
They built a few castles but were ready to get cleaned up before too long.
And of course I forgot to take a picture of the finished sandcastle. Next time!

Big Bus

Friday was a BIG day for Madi.
She got to ride in a big school bus on the way to a football game.
Her Daddy was taking his players to a Monterey game so we got to tag along.
We waited til Thursday evening to tell her what we were doing thinking that would be late enough to not make the waiting unbearable.
We were WRONG!
She was so excited that she kept asking me to call the bus place to see if they were open because she wanted to ride it NOW!
Needless to say, Friday afternoon couldn't come soon enough.
We had the bus to ourselves for about 30 minutes before all the players jumped on!
She had so much fun going in and out of the bus . . .
Up and down the stairs . . .
Jumping from seat to seat . . .
And much more!
Oh, and we only made it six minutes in to the first quarter before she said she was ready to go home!

Labor Day 2011

We headed to the lake for Labor Day to see my parents and help out.

Grandpa, Grandma and Madi went to Sunday school and we met them at Big Church.
(She didn't like how her shirt felt on the inside. Said it was scratchy!)
Golf cart rides are a staple when at the lake.

And so is petting all the animals at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
I just had to take a picture of Rufus with a cast on his hurt paw. Only Grandma would have a vet do that!
Time to fill up the bird feeders. Grandma always says that without Madi's help the birds would go hungry.

While Matt and my dad golfed, we played games.
I haven't laughed this hard in a long time while playing Genga with my mom and brother. Good times!
Love these bubble wands. They actually work to where Madi can make tons of bubbles by herself!
The best way to end evenings at the lake is to sit on the porch in the cool weather and listen to these two strum away!
It was a great relaxing weekend!

Mommy & Madi Date!

Since Daddy had to scout in Big Spring Friday night it was just Mommy and Madi.
So, I thought it would be fun to plan a fun night without spending any money.

First, we went to the library and read a few books and checked some out to take home.
Then, we headed to the mall to get my ring checked for my warranty. Along the way we went up and down the escalator at Barnes & Noble and threw a bunch of pennies in every fountain we saw. (So I guess we did spend a little money!)
Then we went to a Redbox and Madi picked out a movie to watch that night. We got a rental code for a free movie. I made her favorite meal of choice (for the time being): pizza rolls, chips, cucumber, tomatoes, and grapes. And we ate while watching the movie.
We definitely don't like Daddy being gone at night but we sure had fun together!

And so it begins . . .

We have been having school at the Heider house on a regular basis this past week.
Madison learned a new bible verse.
And did a couple of cut-n-paste, coloring, and matching activities. This was her face when I told her school was over and to go play! Ha!
And this is what school with Daddy looks like . . .
Writing her numbers and letters on his new Ipad.
I'm really not sure who loves it more!
This little girl is SO ready for big kid school.

Special Memory

This picture is from my phone this morning on our walk to the donut shop.
It was a special memory I want to remember always!
