Back into the swing . . .

 Monday morning Madi wore the Hollywood shirt I got her in California.

 Because of the time change we were able to play at the park after swim that's right across the street.

 I found Madi like this when I went in to tell her it was time to go to piano.

I had to video her snoring!

 Thursday night I took a much needed bubble bath and began reading some of the books for Children's Lit this summer.  Steph and I are going to co-teach a class since we miss the student connection. 

 Friday was Cowboy/Cowgirl dress up day at Madison's school.

 We borrowed Tripp's Spiderman boots.

 Friday after school Matt and Madi built a golf contraption so they can practice their swings in the backyard.

It kept them occupied until we went out to dinner so I call that SUCCESS!

Birthday & LA, California

I can't remember what we were shopping for at Target but Madi wanted to know if we had anything to recycle.  :)

 She loves wearing my boots/shoes around the house.

 While Matt plays poker on Friday nights, Madi and I read in our bed until we fall asleep. 

 Monday was my birthday but we celebrated early on Sunday by eating this yummy ice cream cake.

 It was a little cold . . .

 Monday was observation day at dance.

 The song was beautiful and Madi was really into the dance so I took a bunch of pictures.

 Matt's track meet on Monday was canceled because of the cold weather so we got a surprise birthday dinner at Roadhouse.  We even let Madi skip swim that night!  I got 3 beautiful necklaces and some new sunglasses!

 I got the SWEETEST birthday card from Madison.

 I laugh most days when I read her work.

Wednesday we wore the 100 day Button shirt!

 Author Ralph Williston is coming to Madi's school next week to read and sell his books! 

 Wednesday night Madi got sick to her stomach after we had Cup of Yo.  I thought it was an isolated incidence so we loaded up to go to swim.  Well, unfortunately we had to turn around and head home but not before Madi got sick in our car.  ALL. OVER. OUR. CAR!  

I told Matt that I need a new car now.  :)

So we kept Madi home on Thursday.

Of course, I was leaving for LA on Thursday but thankfully she was fine and I was able to leave feeling okay.

I wrapped a whole bunch of little gifts and labeled them "Thursday night" "Friday morning" etc. for to open while I was gone.  Also, she knew exactly when I was going to be back - once the last gift labeled "Sunday after Church" was opened.  It worked well because Matt said she didn't ask when I'd be back once!

 I got this picture texted to me by Matt Thursday evening so I'd know she was feeling just fine.

 Friday she returned to school and Matt and her got a bunch of dirt to level out the backyard.

 They had dinner at her favorite place Souper Salad.

 Friday night we had dinner on Rodeo Dr.  It was amazing!

 Dr. Button was feeling pretty good!

 Our conference was so good and the food was fancy fancy! 

 We flew out of Burbank because it was so much smaller and easier to navigate than LAX.  We walked out to board the plane and there were beautiful mountains right behind the airport.  

 We stopped in Vegas on our way back home so Steph and I had to play a few slots. 

It was a great trip but with the two hour time difference, Daylight Savings Time and returning on a Sunday afternoon it was tough to get back in the swing of things!
