Glow Sticks

The other night Madison got to pick out a "treat" at the store. I steered her away from candy and to glow sticks because I had seen a neat idea using them in the bathtub.
She picked the blue ones! She was so excited that I told her she looked SCARY!
She has always enjoyed bath time but she was definitely more excited than normal.
I think she took the longest bath on record that night.
The only down side to this fun idea is that the glow sticks only work one time and then you have a disappointed little girl the next night come bath time. :)

Letter to Santa

One day out of the blue, Madi said she wanted to write a letter to Santa. We hadn't talked about it before so I know she must have heard it somewhere. So, I asked her what she wanted to say and spelled out the words for her to write.
Then we mailed it . . .
I taught her where the return address and mailing address go plus the stamp. (Everything's a learning opportunity, right?) :) She wanted to write Santa twice. I guess to ensure it would get there!
Here's what her letter says:
Dear Santa,
Bring me some presents. Please leave them at the door.
(Heart) Madison
We laughed at her letter because when we explained to her the idea of Santa she was NOT happy about him coming INTO our house through the chimney. So a friend of mine said that while they were "getting to know" Santa they would say to leave the presents at the door. I told Madi we could do that and she loved the idea. But of course I didn't think she'd remember that part when writing her letter, but she did!

Superheroes!

Our wonderful friend Kristin made all the kiddos superhero capes!
I've heard them say they can fly now with their capes.
And run REALLY fast!
What a wonderful gift from a great friend!

Princess Party

Madi was invited to her friend Landry's 5th Princess Birthday Party last weekend.
They were supposed to wear their favorite Princess dress to the party.
They are in the same dance class and see each other at church too.
First, all the girls had their fingernails painted.

Here's the sweet Birthday Girl LANDRY!
After getting their make up and hair done, they made Princess candy necklaces.
All the beautiful princesses . . .
Then it was cake time! She has such a cute cake too!
There was glitter everywhere and no one wanted to leave!
This cute party gave me ideas for future birthday parties!

Arthur Christmas

After church on Sunday we went and picked up Tucker then headed to see the movie "Arthur Christmas".

Matt said it was the best Christmas movie he has seen in quite a while. I agree!
The kids loved it too!

Candy Party!

We had our 2nd Annual Candy Party that we adopted from Matt's family tradition last weekend. I bet you can't tell who was the most excited!
We wore our Christmas shirt and necklace and we were READY!
"Santa" got the almond bark ready . . .
And then everyone pitched in to get all the candy made.

Grandma & Grandpa with the Grandkids!
I think Tripp did more eating than making!

We were hot and tired but wanted to make sure and get a "sister" picture.
We took a few of my sister's family before they left.
And another one of Grandma and the grandkids.
And another . . .
And another . . .
I wish I could Photoshop so I could cut and paste to get one good picture. Oh well! These will have to do.

Movie Night!

We recorded Curious George's Christmas movie over Thanksgiving then had a movie night at home in our pjs. I told Madi we would make cookies for the movie. When I pulled out the pre-made ones she asked where the flour, sugar, butter, . . . . was!
We pulled the couch around so we could all sit together like at the real movie theater.
The movie was really cute and gave us a neat way to countdown to Christmas like George did.
It was a great way to start the Christmas season!
