Special Memory

This picture is from my phone this morning on our walk to the donut shop.
It was a special memory I want to remember always!

Real Sunday School

Today was a big day for Madison!
She was promoted into a real Sunday School class at church. No more nursery classes for her!
She was a little nervous but jumped right in and learned all about Jonah. They even made their very own ocean complete with fish and all.

This & That

Ever since we got this set of table and chairs I have been begging Matt to eat outside more often. I know that's a lot to ask considering we live in Lubbock but I really enjoy eating outside. So, one day this week when it was nice and cool in the evening we took our pork chops, mac & cheese, fresh green beans (Thanks Grandma & Grandpa Heider) and headed out back.

Madison LOVES to help me with everything I do which can often be more work than actual help. So when I saw this idea of letting kids "wash" dishes by just giving them clean water, clean cups and a dishrag and telling them to get busy . . . I knew we had to try it!
She's already "washed" dishes twice in the last two days. Can't wait til it's for real!
With all the "school" talk going around Madi has asked to play school more than usual (which is already A LOT!).
We did a cut and paste activity over the four seasons. She can name all four seasons, what takes place in each season and what are the best types of clothes to wear during each one.
At this rate I need to gather more school supplies for my little student!

Our Crazy Week . . .

We've tried to fit a lot of stuff in the last few weeks before school starting.

We made a quick last minute trip to Brownfield's water park on Monday with Shelle and her kids. The kids had a blast and didn't want to leave.

Then we went to Science Spectrum for some cool, in-door entertainment on Wednesday.

Thursday we played at Chuck E. Cheese. Tripp, Madi and Tucker made 90 tokens last two hours. They were all ready for nap time.
Saturday Grandpa and Grandma Heider came for a visit. They took us to brunch at Cracker Barrel then to the park to watch Madi ride her bike.
They also brought a bunch of veggies from their garden. Madison had two cucumbers within the first 10 minutes of their arrival.

A little out of order . . . but Thursday evening we headed to Joyland. It was a great evening to be outside. It was overcast and cool. The kids rode ride after ride then the night ended in a wonderful rain storm.
Last weekend, we tried and tried (179 times to be exact) to get a picture of Madi and her 3 puppies. I had it framed in an 11x14 for her bathroom. The puppies were perfect. They sat still and looked at the camera for the most part. The difficult one was Madi. She would NOT look and smile at the camera. So this is the best one we got out of 179 times!
That was a BUSY week and we have another one coming up! Hurry up school!

Bathroom Make-over

We decided to makeover Madi's bathroom.
We painted the walls sky blue and Madi helped too!
Then we went shopping for a new shower curtain, rugs, etc.
We are decorating it black and white. I'm excited to see how the black & white look against the sky blue.
Once it's all done I'll post more pictures.

Maci's First Sleepover!

Maci had her first sleepover with us Saturday night.
Her family went to the lake so she hung out with us.
She even wore the appropriate attire for the occasion!
Madison loved having her over and wanted to help make her bottle, hold her, dress her and anything else she could think of.

Uncle Matt loves Maci because she's the perfect age to just sit and cuddle while he plays video games with Madi.

While I loved having her over I do NOT miss those last night feedings. She still gets up every 3 or so hours but I guess that's ok since she's just now 3 weeks old. I just need to remember to get more sleep the day before and NOT run 3 miles, vacuum and wash both cars out in the heat, go to a movie, go out to dinner and watch Matt play indoor soccer before going to get her.
I'm TIRED!
