Devyn Came to Visit!

Matt had to show Tripp, Morgan and Tim his new craps table when they came over after we met them for dinner a couple weeks ago. 

Tuesday, Devyn flew in to stay with us for the week!

The cousins were also with us for a few days that week so Maci had to try out our pool!

Madi played in the Lubbock Summer Volleyball league the week Devyn was here as well.  

Devyn was definitely a trooper watching two games each night of the week and a tournament all day on Friday!

Most of Madi's team was from the other middle school in our district so it was good for her to play with new team mates. 

They hadn't played in a few months but it didn't take them long to get back into it!

Madi had a great block on her last game!

Summer volleyball sure is fun!

Vegas!

While Madi was in Boston and Philadelphia, Matt and I snuck away to Vegas for a few days!

First up was Giordano's for dinner and Ghirardelli for dessert! 

Up bright and early for breakfast at our favorite spot, Mon Abi Gabi. 

Then I spent the morning doing work while Matt played a while before we went to the outlet mall.  We both found a lot of good sales!

Then we spent the afternoon at the pool before walking to dinner at Re Ra!  

We headed home on Thursday so we could wrap up things at work and around the house before the weekend. 

Then we had a few parents over on Saturday to kill a few hours before picking our kids up from their trip that evening!

Our NCL year starts over June 1 so Madi and I got busy on our volunteer hours!  We're already at 3.5 of our 20 hours for the year. 

Madi started sweat camp Monday morning at 8am. 

And Tripp played in an All Star game this week!  We were sad to miss it!

Summer is already proving to be a busy, fun time! 

Goodbye, Chicke.

Chicke joined our family as a six to seven week old puppy back in 2006.  She was my Valentine's Day gift from Matt our first year of marriage. 

I love this picture of Chicke and Noodle watching Madi out the front door.  It shows that they were around before she was even born.

Chicke started having health problems the last few years so we knew our time with her was short. 

Thankfully, their set up at our new house was perfect where she could be inside and use the dog door to go outside to the dog run whenever she needed to. 

I'll always remember her laying right outside my office door in the sunlight on the cold winter mornings right after we moved into our new house.

Thank you Chicke for 15.5 wonderful years!  

You were a great puppy. 

Boston & Philadelphia

They landed in Boston on Tuesday and their first stop was a Harvard tour. 

Then they were off to explore Boston and have dinner!

Wednesday they toured the Mayflower.

Then they went to Plymouth Plantation!

Bunker Hill was next!

Then they toured the USS Constitution.

Thursday they did a little sightseeing at the Boston stadium before boarding a train to Philadelphia, PA!

They ate dinner at Burger Fi in Philly!

Friday morning they went to an American Revolution museum.

When in Philly, you must eat a Philly cheesesteak!

Next was the Betsy Ross house!

Then they saw the Liberty Bell.

Friday night they went to a Phillies' game.

They welcomes Laura Bush Middle School on the marquee!

Saturday they ate pizza before heading to the airport to come home!

We were so excited to see her Saturday evening and hear all about her trip.
