Furniture Shopping!

They poured our front sidewalk and flower beds on December 18th!

Madi's new fan and can lights were put in too!

We heard that most furniture is on back order so we decided to go look around town. We found most of our furniture at Haverty's.  Now we hope it comes in soon after we move in.
We went and looked at Christmas lights again before all the cousins came to town.
Day 20 and 21:  Fred wasn't feeling that well so he decided to quarantine for a few days.
We had breakfast at the Layton's last Sunday.
They had the cutest cups with animal noses on them!
Madi and I did a little more furniture shopping on Monday to find a few last items we need.
Monday evening we met Shelle and Tucker at Rosa's for dinner then headed to LCU to watch Tripp's game.

We love watching our favorite #0!
Later that night we watched a riveting game of Twister!

We are so excited to start our Christmas celebrations this week now that the cousins are here!

Finals Week!

Day 14:  Fred invited us to go get ice cream and look at Christmas lights.
J's Cremery did not disappoint!

Day 15:  Fred had two of Madi's favorite Christmas treats for her on the last day of the fall semester.
School technically goes through this Friday the 18th.  But since Madi is exempt from all finals she doesn't have to go to school Wednesday through Friday so Christmas break starts early for us!

Day 16:  First day of Christmas break calls for donuts for breakfast!

Wednesday morning, Madi and I enjoyed a little shopping and then that afternoon she went to Maisen's house for a gift exchange with some school friends.

Maisen also had fun Christmas hats for them to decorate.

They had chili for dinner and then Maisen's mom took them all to church.

Madi, Maisen, Payton, Riley, Claire & Ava

We went and looked at the house while Madi was with friends.  Our outdoor lights were installed!

Madi's bathroom shelves were tiled!

Our double ovens are in!

And we have electricity so we can see the guest bathroom much better now!

Madi had a Christmas party at youth!

So thankful she enjoys going to youth so much and has such good friends!

Day 17: Fred just knows that they were "mint" to be friends!
Day 18:  Fred knows Madi well!

We try to go by the house daily now since they are making so many changes!
We have lights!

My tub is almost ready to go in!

All of our appliances are ready to be installed except the refrigerator.  Hoping it comes in soon!

Madi's bathroom looks amazing!  Can't wait to see how it looks all done!

Friday, Madi and I went to the mall for some more shopping.  I finally have a shopping buddy.  Madi mentioned wanting to get a second ear pierced on one ear like me a while back.  So I surprised her as we walked by Claire's and asked if she really wanted to do it!

She was nervous but said she'd regret it if she didn't do it!

She said it didn't hurt at all and loves it!

Madi also spent the day working through volleyball modules.  She has to have the training completed before their first club tournament in January.  She finished them all on Friday!

Day 19:  Fred knows Madi loves socks so Christmas socks are even better!
We are ready for Christmas week!  We have so many fun things planned with friends and family.

No Christmas Piano Recital 2020

Sadly, Ms. Amy had to cancel the 2020 Christmas piano recital.
We figured that would be the case but we were still sad to not attend.
Ms. Amy videoed Madi at one of her last practices this year playing her song.
She's missed quite a bit of piano this fall due to school activities so she didn't have it mastered yet, but we think she did a great job!

Fun Christmas Weekend!

Friday, Madi stayed after school for club volleyball practice until 6:30pm. Then all the kids went to the Lewis's house while we went to our Sunday School Christmas party.  We ate great food and laughed so much at our white elephant gift exchange.  No pictures were taken but I wanted to be sure and remember that we did still have our class party!

Had to take pictures of Madi's room since all her furniture is going to the Lewis' house soon.
Their daughter Braelynn has always wanted a loft bed so it's perfect timing as Madi transitions to different furniture at our new house.

Day 12: Fred brought Madi a fun gingerbread house to make Saturday morning.

Madi wasn't really happy with how it turned out so she got creative . . .

We spent most of Saturday morning into the early afternoon finishing up Christmas shopping as a family.  We don't usually all go to the mall and shopping all over town together but it sure was a fun day!

Day 13: Fred brought Madi the Left, Right, Center game.  He also brought $9 so we could play the game.  Luckily, Madi happened to win!

Sunday was our day for breakfast at our house with the Layton, Foley and Lewis families.
After breakfast and church, we all loaded up to show everyone the progress on our new house. It was snowing a little but the kids still wanted to ride in the back of Matt's truck.

The NCL Mother-Daughter Tea was virtual for everyone except 9th and 12th graders Sunday afternoon.
We were sad we couldn't get dressed up and attend but they sent sweet cookies and tea in a package for us to enjoy while we watched on Zoom.

Sunday was also the Christmas party for Madi's club volleyball team.
They decorated cookies and did a fun gift exchange!
Madi had a great time and it was fun getting to know her teammates a little better. We'll be spending many a weekend with these girls all spring!

Weekends like this put me in the Christmas spirit!
