Opening Back Up!

 Nights out on the patio have been quite enjoyable . . . 

First day with the trampoline was a success . . .

 Saturday night Madi wanted to sleep outside so being the good mom that I am, I joined her!  We made it all night surprisingly. 

 Briley, Madi and Maisen out on a walk around the neighborhood.  They love looking in all the new houses being built. 

 Madi rode her bike to Sonic with Gracie and spilled her drink on the way back. 

 Thankfully, she just went back to Sonic and got another drink!

 Some days we enjoy our lunch out on the back patio watching our show together. 

 While we were on the trampoline together, the wind picked up and took our umbrella over the house and into the front yard! 

 This is where you can find Madi most days . . . 

 Grandma and Madi made puppy cookies for the Morris Safe House last week.  Then we delivered them to the Animal Medical Center. 

 Sprinkler under the trampoline?  Sure, why not!

 Love how Madi chooses to decorate her room.  Also, love that she and Maisen take turns sharing a bible verse or story with their friend group each night before going to bed.

 Grabbed lemon cookies and headed to my co-worker Alyson's house to celebrate her birthday from afar!  It was so good seeing a few friends!

 Last Saturday, we were finally able to see our friends the Foley's!  They came to our house for a cookout! 

 Then Sunday morning, we went to their house to make biscuits and gravy for breakfast and to attend our last (hopefully!) home church with them! 

 Grandma Heider was wonderful and sent us 9 masks that she made for us. Now that we will adventure out some it's nice to already have masks. 

 

 On Thursday, we did a birthday parade for one of my coworkers that was turning 40!

 I started this funny tradition of leaving a random item at a friend's house without their knowledge to see how long it takes for them to notice.  Madi and I left a cross at a friend's house in Levelland back in February and it took her almost a month to notice!  Well this week on Thursday I texted Matt to see why there was a TV in our bathroom.  The Foley's did the same thing to us and left an old TV they no longer needed in our bathtub to see how long it would take us to notice!  Ha! 

 I took Uncle Rod to his eye appointment and we both wore masks.  It was my first time to wear a mask in public. 

I'm sure it will start to feel normal but it sure was an odd feeling! 

Week ??? of Quarantine!

 I introduced Madi to the wonderful snack of pickles, cheese and crackers.  Aunt Shelle and I ate those all the time growing up! 

Madi's Girl Scout leader dropped off a huge bag of fun things for her to do and earn badges.  These were all activities they were going to do together as a troop but this is the next best thing.

 Madi won't eat cake but she enjoyed baking and decorating them. 

 On Friday April 10th, we celebrated Grandpa Mayberry's 72nd birthday with a steak dinner! 

 Madi's friend Rylee surprised her with a note outside and 10 hidden Easter eggs out front.

 Madi made a face mask from a bandanna in her Girl Scout badge bag! 

 Then she made the pizza . . .  

 Ms. Sarah has been such a good troop leader and her bag of badges helped keep Madi entertained during quarantine!

Easter was different this year for sure.  We still hid eggs for our girl though before watching the church service. 

 She was a little tired but still found all 41 eggs in record time! 

There were also 2 scavenger hunts left for her with fun gifts at the end!

 Playing around with the make-up kit she got from the Easter bunny. 

 Madi said she wanted to do a theme night . . . so we had a Frozen II night on Monday.  

 We watched Frozen II on Disney + and picked our favorite pint of ice cream to enjoy!

 Friday, April 17th, Madi woke up to a sweet welcoming message from NCL! 

 NCL is a national charity league that Madi and I joined.  I'm thankful they had space for her age group and that we were able to join.  

 We meet monthly and volunteer throughout the year!  Can't wait to get started!

 On Sunday, we headed to Lake Alan Henry to go out on the boat with the cousins. But first we had to play with Tuck's new toy.

 Happy hour via Zoom with the Foleys on Tuesday night.  We talked for over two hours!

 Bianca dropped of a gift on our door step earlier that day for Matt to open while on Zoom.

 The cousins came to stay with us since Cody's grandma passed away on Saturday.  I asked Tuck if he was comfortable like this . . . 

 We got a game of Dixit in before they headed to the viewing.

 Amy bought us all these cute Lubbock shirts and dropped them off on our porches.  We wore them to our weekly Site Coordinator meeting so we had to take a picture together after our meeting ended.  :-)

We are definitely adapting to our new normal.  Hope it's not for too much longer though!
