Week 2 of Quarantine

Normally this time of year, we make a cute chalkboard sign that says Hello Spring but this year Madi did a "Bye Corona" sign.
Sunday, March 22 was our first time to attend church online.  It wasn't the same but we were thankful to worship together.
Grandma Mayberry has been Facetiming us on accident so we get to see her ear up close each time!
Quarantine allows a lot of time to practice piano!
We saw a fun idea to make a chalk mosaic outside . . .

 The finished masterpiece . . .
We've been helping this cutie with homework some too through Facetime!
Not sure why but Madi wanted me to take her picture like this . . .
Uncle Rod brought Pistol by for a visit but our puppies, especially Biscuit, weren't too thrilled.
Tuesday night called for ice cream from J's Creamery!
Madi wrote letters to Grandma Mayberry and Grandma B.  My mom sent me a picture of Madi's letter to her and it made us laugh!
The puppies aren't allowed in the bedrooms but I guess during quarantine anything goes!
I love having a Dean that attends our Zoom meeting like this and doesn't even say a word, just starts the meeting.  :)
On Wednesday, Madi's old elementary school did a parade through town and came down our street.  She loved seeing her old teachers drive by and wave.
Madi tired a trick of using a pencil and a straightener to curl her hair . . . pretty cute!
Warm spring nights call for volleyball and hot tub time out back!

 Facetiming with the cousins . . .
More driving practice but this time in my car.
Sunday, March 29th - another day of home church together!
Creative way to get in the backyard!
First day of school online at home!
More school work . . . By Tuesday she's almost done with this week's work.
Tuesday - on one of our daily walks!

You want to make a brownie cake with icing?  Sure!

 Finished project!
Madi's Girl Scout troop is amazing!  They let the girls choose a project from The Rustic Brush and delivered it to our door.  Then they are going to have a virtual meeting where the girls can show each other their completed project!

Madi chose the board with her first and middle name with an arrow.  It turned out so cute!
She said this is her "mourning" outfit when she learned school was closed until May 4th.
She made a boat out of a sheet and broom - I think this is what cabin fever looks like.
April Fool's Day!
Waking up to Daddy's face in the toilet!
A spider on the toilet paper!

And finding dog poop ALL OVER YOUR ROOM!
She loves April Fool's jokes so she reminded me the day before that it was going to be April Fool's tomorrow. :)
Today was Madi's first vitural piano lesson with Ms. Amy.
Thankful for this virtual world we live in, but we are ready for everything to go back to normal!

Spring Break . . . Quarantine Break!

We had some fun plans for spring break but those were all changed when the quarantine hit.
Instead we had fun at home.  Madi had pizza bites in San Antonio that she loved so we recreated them at home.
Madi wanted a casual picture for her NJHS ceremony coming up so we took pics outside.
The weather was so nice on Saturday so we spent the afternoon reading outside.
And of course we have a family puzzle going . . .
Matt started working from home so Madi enjoyed making him a fun lunch.
Entertainment now includes videoing her doing toe touches . . .

I still went in to work on Monday and Tuesday and enjoyed the beautiful tulips.  Decided to take a picture since it might be a while before I see them again since I started working from home on Wednesday.
We continue loving family breakfasts with a few rounds of Phase 10 to get the day started!
On Wednesday, we drove to our church's parking lot and taught Madi how to drive Matt's truck.
 She did so good!
Then we went by Market Street for a few groceries on our way home.  We got Madi a Starbucks treat too since it may be a while before we are out again.
Thursday we participated in Chalk your Walk that we saw on Facebook.
The idea was to decorate your sidewalk with inspirational sayings or something fun and then drive around your neighborhood and see what everyone did.
Madi and I made a fun hopscotch!
A little boy and his grandpa were our first visitors!
Loved spending this time with our girl even if it was super windy!
Before we went in to make dinner, I had to video her front walk over. :)

Dressing up and playing with make-up to pass the time.  We've been so impressed that Madi has stayed busy every day.  She picks one thing to clean or organize and then does something new and fun everyday too.  We've started running a mile together everyday at lunch.
Friday we had a lunch picnic in Madi's room while we watched a movie.
Madi played a joke on Matt that she saw from a friend.  She said "Daddy, hurry there's water coming from the toilet!"  He jumped up and then laughed when he saw this . . .
Today, we did yoga as a family.  This is Madi perfecting the rock pose she said as we were waiting on Matt to finish up a call.
Spring break is official over but now we have another week of spring break before online instruction starts on March 30.  Definitely a new normal for us but thankful for my 3.  We have been making the best of it and actually enjoying the slower days together.
