Parties & Football

Friday after school, Madi went to play at Gracie's house.
Then they decided to spend the night at Gracie's house so they walked over to get Madi's overnight bag.  Yes, she packed this huge bag for one night!
Saturday evening, we drove to Levelland to watch the Tech game at the Gibbs' house.

There were over 16 kids and 12 adults!  Needless to say, we all had a blast!
Sunday afternoon, Amy, Alyson and I met to have a Chilton in honor of Casey's birthday.  She loved Chiltons. It's crazy to think we ate at Torchy's with Casey last year for her birthday and this year we are celebrating without her.
Madi went to the Tech rec pool Sunday afternoon to celebrate Maisen's birthday!
It was fun to say goodbye to summertime with one last swimming party!

Labor Day Week!

My work sometimes gives us papers to color and decorate the lounge.  Madi colored mine for me.  :)
Rod's good college friend, Kevin, came into town from Florida to work on a car Rod is building for him. It was great to catch up and see pictures of his cute kiddos.
We grilled out Monday night for Labor Day and played a few games.  :)  This is Madi's "thinking" face!
 Tuesday
 Wednesday
We ran to Villa after school on Wednesday before heading to piano.  This girls needs a quick snack before piano and church activities!

Thankful for the short week after such a busy weekend.

See you later, Devyn!

We always knew this was a possibility but it doesn't make it any easier!
Devyn's dad was the Tech Men's tennis coach but just got the head coach job at USC.
While we're excited and happy for him, we are sad for us to lose this precious family.
Devyn stayed with us Saturday night so she could go to church with us to say goodbye to all the friends she has made there.
Then we had Devyn and Gracie over Sunday night for one last sleep over.
Both of the girls got her gifts to remember them.

After opening gifts, they got busy playing.
They made a car out of a huge cardboard box then made a movie using the iPad.  They played all evening and the next morning as well.
Then Tuesday morning I picked up the girls bright and early for one last breakfast together.
These 3 have been the best of friends for years now.
There was lots of hugging when we left breakfast . . .

And again when we dropped Madi and Gracie off at school.

I took Devyn home and said goodbye to their family as the movers were there loading up their house.
See you later Masi Family!
Our loss, USC's gain!

Girl Scout Slumber Party!

Madi's Girl Scout troop leader, Ms. Sarah, invited all the girls over for a slumber party Friday night!
They ate pizza . . .
drove to the park to play . . .
 ate dessert . . .
 did some yoga . . .

 did some stunts . . .

 and did each other's hair!
Madi said they went to bed pretty late but had a fun time!
We left donuts on their doorstep early Saturday morning so they'd have one more treat before we picked them all up!  We are ready for Girl Scouts to start back up this month!

Bringing Home the Saxophone!

Last Saturday, Matt and I attended the soft opening of Costa Vida.  The owner is from Roswell and invited us.  It was really good plus it's right by our house!
Later that night, we grilled out for dinner and had game night!
Matt snapped a picture of Madi at church with the row FULL of girls.  We are so thankful that our closest friends are our church friends.
Sunday after church, we met my family for lunch and to surprise Grandma with a new car!  She was rear-ended in her other car so it was time for a new car.
 Monday
Madi was issued her school iPad on Monday.
She couldn't wait to show me all the features so when we parked in the garage she had to show it all to me!
 Tuesday
 Wednesday
 Thursday
Madi showed us how to put together her saxophone and play a few notes.  She taught herself how to play Mary had a Little Lamb. She looks like a legit sax player to us!
Friday
Madi is absolutely loving middle school and we are so thankful!
