A few lazy summer days . . .

There have been very few days this summer that Madi hasn't been at a camp or out of town.  So we decided to take it slow for a few days before leaving on our trip.
We celebrated Maci's 8th birthday with a lunch at 50th Street Caboose.  Madi was still at camp but I couldn't miss celebrating this sweet girl!
We finally made it to our pool too!
Matt enjoyed it much more once he learned that they have poolside drink service.  :)
We got an email telling us all about middle school!
Madi wanted to get her supplies right away so off we went!  Can't believe we're already buying school supplies.
Lots of movie watching happened and being silly apparently . . .
Madi was so excited to see the huge tomato that was ready for picking on one of her plants from Grandma and Grandpa Heider.  She sliced it and put a little Seasonall salt on it.  It was so good!

The poster from Camp Champion also came in the mail.
Such a cool keepsake to remember the awesome time she had at camp.
Thankful for a few slower summer days.

Explorer's Camp 2019

Wednesday was Madi's first day of church camp!  They arrived and immediately set up their bunk beds and did their swim test.
 Madi just loves the lake!
They all wore their VBS shirts for the first day.

Madi loved playing Ninja!

On Thursday, they wore red shirts. Madi says that the food is okay but breakfast is pretty good!

Madi is on the right in a Flash shirt of Matt's that we used for Superhero night!
No wonder she loves camp . . . They have so many fun activities.
 Ropes course
Bible study - wearing  her turquoise pullover from Vegas.
Bazooka Ball
 Archery

 Shooting rifles
 Self Defense Class . . .

On Friday they all wore green shirts.  Madi, Allison and Jennifer all matched in their Vineyard Vines shirts.

 Bible Study with Ms. Brenda

Madi said the food was much better this year!
On Saturday, they all wore their new camp shirts and posed for a picture.
Madi absolutely loves Explorer's Camp!  This was her last year though since next year she'll go to camp in Estes Park in Colorado with the youth group.

Our Girl Left for Camp!

We flew in from our cousin trip on Tuesday afternoon and packed up so this girl could head to church camp Wednesday morning!
Honestly, she was mostly packed up a week before camp since she was so excited to go!
We are so thankful that Madi has such sweet friends at church.
I'm happy she is going but we sure will miss her!
Bianca is sending two of her kiddos so I think we already have plans to get together while they are gone! :)
The girls bus was loaded and headed out first!
Ms. Brenda, our Children's Minister, is wonderful about providing us daily updates and pictures.  I was so glad to see that they made it safely.
We can't wait to hear all about what she learned and experienced this week!
