Happy Birthday Grandma B!

We celebrated Grandma B's 91st birthday on Saturday!

Saturday afternoon turned out nice and warm once the sun came out so Matt and I went on our weekly run.

While we ran, Madi shot some hoops!

Our friend Ashley showed us how Lubbock Escapes took our suggestion and made a leader board.

And of course our picture was featured first!  :)

Singing, Writing & Escaping!

 Monday
 Tuesday
Wednesday, I was on a 6am flight so Madi and her Daddy did the morning routine solo!

I flew in late Wednesday evening so Madi went to sing at the nursing home for church with friends.
Looks like she had a great time.
After they sing, the kids always go around and mingle with the guests.
Thursday - the weather is going hot then cold then back to hot!  Crazy cycle!

 Friday
At school, Madi had to write an essay about someone she would like to meet.  She chose her great grandfather (Grandma Mayberry's dad) since she's heard a lot about him but he passed away when I was three.  Her teacher told her they could make up part of the story.  This girl is creative for sure!
Friday night, Madi and all her friends enjoyed making slime and going on scavenger hunts at Kids Night Out at church.
And the parents escaped another room at Lubbock Escapes then had dinner at Stella's.
At dinner, we all talked about how neat it is that all the guys are friends, all the girls are friends and our kids all love hanging out together.  Sweet friendships for sure!

Easter Weekend

 Heading to Easter Service!
Madi fell in love with this high-neck romper maxi (I didn't even know what that was!) at Dillard's a few weeks ago.  She looked adorable!

Madi's recent baptism was part of the announcements before the service started.
For our cousins' celebration, we decorated eggs!
Hunted Easter eggs (balloons) in the backyard by shooting the BB gun.

Then each kid had a scavenger hunt around the house leading to a prize egg with candy and money inside!
Then it was time for the traditional Easter egg hunt out front!
Maci brought her squirrel Sammie from Great Wolf Lodge and a small basket for her to collect eggs in.  She asked Uncle Rod to help Sammie collect eggs.
Shelle and I cracked up as Uncle Rod took his job very seriously and made sure to hunt a few eggs for Sammie!
The kids ended the evening decorating cookies while the adults visited in the hot tub!
Easter morning, this one was excited! She loved the candy and fun donut towel.
Then it was time to hunt eggs . . . we hid them harder this year!
It also happened to be April Fool's day so those weren't really chocolate eggs for breakfast.  They were grapes replaced in the wrappers.  And her Gatorade later that day was really red jello!  She loves practical jokes!
We were heading to the Foley's for another celebration so Madi broke out her chemistry goggles to help with making the jalapeno poppers!
All 8 kids helped fill the eggs and we hid over 200 for an epic Easter egg hunt!
We love our friends the Foleys and Gibbs.
The kids had a blast hunting eggs and playing all afternoon.
We had a great lunch of brisket, veggies, poppers and salad.  Plus banana pudding and pecan pie for dessert.
The adults played a game until almost 7pm that night!  It was a great way to celebrate Easter!

Friday to Friday

Last Friday, Allison spent the night with us since all the 6th grade girls from church were staying at her house for DNOW weekend.
They made slime, swam in the hot tub, baked cookies and played outside.
So much slime was made that I decided to devote certain Tupperware to the cause.  ;-)
 Monday
Here's a picture of the proof we got of Madi's Spring school pictures.  She has an adorable smile!
 Tuesday
 Wednesday
Thursday - Daddy took the picture since I went in early so I guess Biscuit wanted to join in the fun!

Friday, Madi spent most of the day with Devyn and Gracie dying Easter eggs and playing.
She wasn't ready to come home but she loved showing me all the cool designs she made.
We have a fun-filled weekend planned that we can't wait to begin!

The Week After . . .

Spring Break and a vacation is NO JOKE!  It took a while to get back into the groove and was such a busy week that we didn't have time for many pictures!
Monday
 Tuesday
 Wednesday
 Thursday
Any time Grandma picks Madi up from school for me it involves a trip to Cup of Yo! or ice cream somewhere! :)
 Friday
Thankfully, our weekend isn't too busy so we can regroup and get ready for the rest of the spring semester!
