Ice Cream Chalk

Sunday afternoon was so pretty and nice so we went on a walk and played with the new ice cream chalk Madi got at her birthday party.
Seriously can't believe my baby is sitting near the BIG number 5!
The chalk was shaped like random ice cream treats and looked so fun to play with!
She wanted to show me all of them.
 All 4 chalks.
Our sidewalks, driveway and back porch are nicely decorated with Madison Heider orginals. :)

Monarch Butterfly

We are gearing up for Halloween at the Heider house!

Everytime I would ask Madison what she wanted to be for Halloween she would say a butterfly.  I thought since she was a bumble bee last year she may have thought that she had to be an insect/animal.  So we shopped around and she showed some interest in a Supergirl costume but then saw another butterfly costume and it was back to that.

Once she saw the Monarch Butterfly costume she knew for sure that it was what she wanted to be for Halloween.  So we tried it on and we are all set!

Apple Orchard

Visiting the Apple Orchard has been on my Fall List for the past few years but for one reason or another we could never make it out there.
So even though last weekend was super busy with Madi's birthday party we decided to go Sunday afternoon.
It wasn't very busy at all and there were lots of photo opportunities.
I think all the pumpkins were Madi's favorite part.
We found 5 pumpkins for the 5 year old birthday girl!
Then we were off with our empty bucket ready to fill it up!
Most of the pink lady apples had already been picked but we still had fun hunting for some!
 We found one . . .
 but it wasn't too good.
Finding the first apple was like GOLD!
 She was so proud.
She thought it was pretty neat to just pick the apple from the tree and take a bite!  I did too until a nice little worm greeted me at the core.  I was done at that point!
My goal was for Madi to know where apples come from and that they don't come from the grocery store!
 More apples!
She could barely carry them all!
 Just one more . . .
Then it was picture taking time.
Matt and I cracked up when she posed and out came that foot.  Just like she does at her dance class!
 Heading to buy some apples.
While Daddy bought our apples we took some more pictures.
Madi wanted a picture by the waterfall.
And once she saw the dog she ran right over and asked if she could pet it.
All in all, it was a fun experience and we have some fresh apples to enjoy at home this week.

5 Years Old!

Our sweet Madison is 5 years old today!

It just doesn't seem possible that it's been that many years since we welcomed her into the world.
This 8lb 12oz baby girl has come a long way.
She makes life fun with her cute laugh and bossy ways.
She loves school and is destined to be teacher we're afraid!
She has developed such a neat personality over the past year.
She's become more social and talkative (to others besides her family!).
Sweet Madi, as much as we've loved the past years we just know that this year is going to be the best one yet!

Sweet & Sassy Party

Madi & Daddy
Madi & Mommy all before her party!

Madi's 5th Birthday Party Invitation

Posing with the party favors before leaving.
Each friend got an embroidered towel, lip gloss and princess ring.

We decorated the cupcakes with the Princess rings and matching sparkles.

We decided a few months back to have Madi's party at Sweet & Sassy.  It's a cute little girl salon where they do all sorts of pampering!
The birthday girl got to wear a cute zebra print robe.  All her friends wore cute little robes too.

First up, was a pedicure. The girls looked so little sitting there getting their feet done.

Jadyn and her sweet mom!

There were 13 girls total so half go their hair and face done first then they switched.  It was chaos!

Sweet Clare

Lilli

Landry
Her party last December is what gave us the idea to do a Sweet & Sassy party.

Jessica getting her hair done while her facial is working too!

Sarah getting a spa hand treatment.  Oh the luxury!
Nails done next!
The worker girls were so sweet to carry the girls from place to place so they didn't mess up their toes.  All the moms laughed that they shouldn't get used to this kind of treatment.
Birthday girl getting her nails painted blue with pink polka dots.
All the girls got glitter paints on their faces too.

Allison getting her nails done.

 Sweet Lauren

Madi wanted a pony tail, but
I thought the Princess buns were too cute!
 Butterfly glitter
 And flower!
 All Sweet & Sassied UP!
 Zebra painted toes!
Clare was loving getting her hair done.
All the girls danced on the run way while waiting for the others to finish up.
In addition to getting their hair, faces, toes and nails done each girl got to make a special lotion, body scrub, or perfume.  It was crazy!
Then it was cake and present time!

Maci even got to enjoy the cupcakes!
 Opening presents . . .
She got so many neat gifts that I would have never thought to buy.
She got her first two barbies and a bunch of creative stuff which is right up her alley!
Group shot!  (Lilli had to leave early)
Aunt Shelle (my hired photographer) insisted on a post-party pic of me and the birthday girl!
We had fun but I was EXHAUSTED!
Maci shopped and kept Grandma busy during the party so her momma could take pictures of this fun event for me.
 She was busy, busy.
Even a one year old has to shop!
Thanks to all of Madison's wonderful friends for celebrating her birthday with us!
