Birthday Week!

Monday was a school holiday, so Madi had Maisen, Ryley and Finnley over!

I took them to Market St. for coffee and to pick out a pumpkin. 
Then they came to our house to carve them and hang out! 

Last Tuesday as a 13 year old! 

Last Wednesday as a 13 year old! 

I started setting out her presents for her upcoming birthday on Thursday! 

She wasn't too happy to see her presents but not be able to open them!

A few more days and then we have a 14 year old!

LBMS vs. Heritage

 We played Heritage last week and thankfully won both of the first two sets!

Fun with Friends!

The Isbells came into town to stay with us and the Foleys for the long weekend. 

We were thankful Lauren could come this time. She's in the middle of her residency so we know it's hard to get away. 

The guys were being silly during our photoshoot outside Las Brisas. 

Thankfully, we got a good picture too!

We took the kids shopping on Saturday and then swam and cooked out at our house. 
Sunday we met for breakfast at Market St. before church.

Claire and Jenn bought matching sweaters at the mall so we had to take their picture together. 

Sunday afternoon was our first club volleyball meeting!  We picked out 9-10 tournaments for this season, bought jerseys, shirts, etc. and picked out a team name - Team Hit-Men!

LBMS vs. Evans

Matt was able to have lunch with Lance last Thursday!  It's a rare occasion since he's an assistant principal at Madi's school.

Friday I took Grandpa home from Trustpoint!

We had to make a stop for groceries first!

Tripp got a real haircut, finally!  So handsome. 

Thursday evening, Grandma and Grandpa Heider got to see Madi's team play Evans.  Wasn't the ending we wanted but it was a super close game and Madi continues to improve every game! 

Madi's teeth were hurting from  her last ortho appointment so smoothies it is! 

Madi had FCA Friday morning and had to get a picture with the speaker Trevor Roberson since he is 7 foot tall and plays for Tech.  It's not very often she meets someone taller than her dad! 

Such a great week seeing family, but we are ready for the weekend! 

 

Palo Duro 2022

We've been going to Palo Duro with our Sunday School class for 5 years now.  We missed two years in that time due to flooding and COVID.  

On our way . . . 

This year we opted to rent an RV instead of tent camping since it seems to rain EVERY year we camp. 

Sadly, zip lining was canceled due to wind but that didn't stop us from playing corn hole!

Nor did it stop us from hiking!

Most of the adults . . . some were back at camp cooking lunch!

The kids also played kick ball and volleyball near our camps. 

We had so much fun just sitting around visiting.  Even some of the older kids joined us.  No technology, just outdoors and friends!

Night time was so fun - stars overhead and smores on the fire!

But then Adam used his excellent photoshop skills and added them in for us! :) 

We had the best time!  Can't wait for next year. 

LBMS vs. Terra Vista

This week was all about getting ready for our upcoming camping trip and volleyball!  

We played and beat Terra Vista! 

So proud of #7 and her team! 

LBMS vs. LCMS!

Madi stayed with the Lewis family while we were in Vegas.  But then Aunt Shelle got her the last night we were gone since they were in town for Maci's new cast. 

They went to dinner at Chili's with Tripp then did some shopping at Target.  

Before the big rival game with LCMS, they all met up with their "swim buddy" from the high school volleyball team!

Madi's yard sign came in! 

This game was a huge rival and they played so well but sadly lost in the end.

But Madi's blocking skills are getting so good!  It's fun to watch! 

Over the weekend, we had friends over to watch the Tech game then played 9 square at the Foley's house.  It was so much fun for the kids and adults!

Then Sunday was volleyball club tryouts at 806. We can't wait for club season!  We also got to see Grandpa Mayberry while he's doing some rehab on his legs. 

Then this guy joined us Monday night for dinner and to review for his upcoming math test.
