Adventures in Vegas & California!

We headed to the airport on July 3rd for a fun adventure!
Madi headed to California to spend the week with Devyn and we spent a night in Vegas before heading home.
It was our first time wearing masks for a long time and it was definitely an adjustment!
We spent the next few days working and relaxing.  Then on Wednesday it was time to head back to Vegas!  First stop was Giordano's for deep dish pizza!  Matt was in heaven!

The next day we tried a french bistro for breakfast before doing a little shopping then heading to the airport to get Madi.

Reunited!  We were so happy to see this one walk off the plane from California.  She couldn't wait to tell us all her adventures (which deserves a post of its own!).  Then she couldn't wait to see the fountain view room we got at the Bellagio!
We also scheduled a trapped room right after Madi's plane landed.  It was called the Playground and it was awesome!

Thursday was our 15th anniversary which we also like to call our family's birthday. So, we celebrated in style with a fancy dinner downtown at Hugo's.

Madi thought it was so neat that we ate sherbet to cleanse our palate before the next course.

Breakfast at Hash House A Gogo is a must!

We walked around the gardens at the Bellagio before heading for a day of shopping!
We waited about an hour to get into Lululemon but I think Madi will say it was worth the wait! We spent the rest of the morning and most of the afternoon going through the outlet shops.
We had trouble finding an Uber so we took a taxi to meet up with Matt for another trapped room called Gold Rush! He was a little late but we escaped!
We cooled off at dinner at Giordano's again. We had to show Madi especially since she wanted cheese sticks. On our way back to the room, we saw one of those artists that draws you as a character.
I had told Matt a few days before that I would love to get our pictures drawn to put up in the loft at the new house.
Thankfully, he's a good sport so we stopped and got our pictures drawn.
These will be so fun to hang up in the new house!
Madi looks a little old here!
We were crazy and went back at 9pm to attempt another escape room called The Heist.  It was a little harder but we escaped!  It could have been because it was past our bed time when we started!
Our dessert place was closed on our way back to the hotel so Madi ordered cookies and ice cream from room service!
We took Madi to the french bistro we liked for breakfast the next morning.
Then we killed a little time shopping along the strip before heading to the airport.
It was a different experience with masks and all but we are thankful we could get away doing the things we love for a few days this summer!

Cousin Visit!

Tuck and Maci came to spend the week with us while Shelle and Tripp went to church camp.
It was perfect timing since that Sunday night was our church's annual fireworks show out at the corn maize.  They all had a blast running around playing and eating dessert before the fireworks started.
Someone loved the glow in the dark necklaces too!
Monday Tuck and Maci just played around the house since we had already scheduled for Madi and Elly to take First Aid/CPR training online.  They both want to babysit so we thought getting the training would be a good idea.  They also plan to take Babysitting 101 offered by the Red Cross too this summer.
Had to send a picture of Tucker's hair cut to his parents so they'd recognize him!
We played lots of Skipbo while they visited too!
Madi taught Tucker how to make pizza pockets.
While Maci played video games!
Family game of Skipbo during dinner!

We couldn't let them leave until we played Clue!  Tucker loves Clue like I do. :)
Madi also taught Tuck how to fold towels properly!
Tuck went to spend a night with his friend Cole so it was just us girls!  Maci wanted to go jump at Altitude so we did!
Then we did some shopping!
Maci was so happy when we let her pick out what she wanted for her upcoming birthday!
Madi made heart biscuits to end a fun week!
We sure love having the cousins come visit!

Volleyball!

Madi started Summer Volleyball League this past week and had so much fun learning the game!
She played on LCP 7th White and knew some of the girls on her team which was nice.
Her team won each of the two games a night Monday through Thursday then lost on their 3 game Friday.  It was exciting!
It was a great introduction to volleyball!

Pool Time!

Madi made fun cards for us to send to Matthew and Jennifer at church camp. I was so impressed with her artwork!  I know they will love getting the cards.
We also finally went to the pool for the first time last week.  We met Briley's family up there and had a blast!
On Saturday, Madi and I went to Kennedy's bridal shower.
It's crazy to think she was a flower girl in our wedding and now my daughter and I are attending her bridal shower.  Time flies!
We are so happy for Kennedy and Blake to start their life together!
Saturday evening, Madi went to the Foley's house while we had a belated birthday celebration for my and Bianca's birthdays back in March.  COVID changed our plans then so we made up for it with escaping a new room at Time Crunch Escapes and dinner reservations at King Street Pub.
Crave didn't have the dessert we wanted so we opted to go to the store and make our own!  It was a fun birthday celebration and SO worth the wait!
