Science Fair Time!

 Monday
Tuesday

We turned Madi's Science Fair project in on Tuesday to be judged.  When I went to pick it up on Wednesday while she was at piano, I saw the first place ribbon and trophy indicating she was selected to go to regionals!

It was neat to see her name posted on Lubbock Cooper's FB page as a 6th grade science fair finalist!

Pirate of the Month!

Madi got the letter last week that said she was selected as Pirate of the Month for 6th grade by her teachers. I don't go into her school much so I bribed her to have a friend take a picture of her by the sign.
We are so proud of our Pirate of the Month!

We thought cute new PJs were a great reward for doing so well in school and being selected as Pirate of the Month!
Saturday, we did the newest trapped room in Lubbock and escaped!
Then we grilled out at the Foleys for dinner.  The kids put together a trapped room down in their basement that was really good.
Sunday after church, Madi had Girl Scouts for the first time this semester.

It's almost Cookie Time!

First Week of 2020!

School started back on Tuesday.  Madi was excited to see all her friends again and wear one of her new outfits!
Shelle was in town on Tuesday for Grandma Mayberry's hip surgery and showed me this text from Tripp. We know he's colorblind like Grandpa Mayberry but it's still funny to see him send brown hearts thinking they are red.  :)
 Wednesday
Wednesday Madi came home with a note from her principal.  She said she was called to the office and received this letter.  Her teachers nominated her for Pirate of the Month!  It's always an honor to be recognized especially when over 1100 students go to her school. :)  We couldn't be prouder of our Pirate!

The first week back is always tough so we're thankful for a relaxing weekend!

2020 so far . . .

New Years Eve, we invited over Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Rod for dinner and games.
After a yummy dinner of brussel sprouts, ham, and rolls we played Mexican Train.
We didn't make it to celebrate the new year so this one had her own private celebration complete with her own home-made party hat!
New Years Day we headed to Roswell to have Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa Heider.
We went and picked tomatoes at the green house then they treated us to a great lunch at Cattle Baron.
Then we headed home to unwrap gifts!
Thankfully, Grandpa Heider is great about taking pictures regularly so we will always have these memories!
 It was a great visit!

The rest of the week Madi and I spent it getting stuff done while Matt went to work.
We went up to my work on Thursday morning so Madi could use the work room to get everything ready for her science fair project board.  That afternoon we put on a Hallmark movie and she glued it all together. Almost done!
Madi and her friends like experimenting with face paint to do some cool effects like this . . .
Madi also completed her band extra credit - playing a Christmas song on your instrument and submitting the video to Google Classroom. She did it in her Grinch pajamas and made a cute video!
Friday night Penny and Rylee spent the night - they ate pizza, baked brownies, and sang songs in the hot tub!
So far 2020 has been a great year!

Cousins Day

The cousins came to town on Tuesday so decided to have a fun cousins day!
First, we met them,Grandma, Grandpa, Grandma B, and Uncle Rod at Chick-fila for lunch.  Best part - Morgan was working too!
Then we spent the afternoon at Altitude. They have this new part that was so fun for Grandma and me to watch.  We couldn't watch without laughing!

Towards the end they wanted us to film them running over each other on the wall.

It was a fun way to spend the last day of 2019.
